As Monday rolls around, I start to feel really anxious. All of my classes are very challenging and I have a big test in Spanish which is second hour. Since it is this morning it's not like I could skip lunch and study so I guess I'll just have to trust my brain, which has not always been the smartest decision. I'm normally a straight A student, but this semester has wiped me out. I don't know how I'm going to get through next semester. I've almost given up. Last week, I got a C on my Spanish quiz, so I'm not too confident that I'll pass this test. The only class that I'm consistently good at is drama. It's so much fun to slip into someone else's shoes and experience life through their eyes. Plus it's not too difficult. Sure, every two weeks I have to memorize a new script but that's fun and is basically a story so it is easier to memorize than a long list of irregular verbs.
I'm walking to first hour and see Brenda and Carter leaning against a set of lockers and talking. You can literally see the love in their eyes when they look at each other. Just before they're out of my sight I see Carter lean over to Brenda and give her a small kiss. They've been dating since the cake walk incident, where Annabelle and I had so cleverly come up with their ship name, Brenter. Annabelle and I expertly split Nancy an Carter up so Brenda could get the boy she had been pining after for like eight years. It wasn't difficult. I think he was just sick and tired of Nancy acting both needy and full of herself. I sure am sick and tired of her. Brenda is the total opposite of Nancy. First of all, she actually has a soul. Second of all, she's funny and down to earth.
At the night of the cake walk, Annabelle, with her talent of throwing things, hit Nancy in the face with a cupcake. Unfortunately Brenda had been knocked into as well and got icing all in her hair thanks to Nancy. Nancy's reaction, that of a drama queen, had her theatrically getting up and storming off but luckily for us it allowed Brenda, to show her amazing personality. Brenda sat there and laughed her head off. Not only had she embarrassed herself in the middle of a public carnival, but she also embarrassed herself in front of the boy she has been head over heels for since second grade, Carter. He must have noticed the difference between the girls and realized what he had been missing out on. The only reason he was actually dating Nancy in the first place is because people liked it. They wanted to see the head cheerleader and the quarterback be high school sweethearts. When you think about it, that's a cute scenario. It's just not cute when the head cheerleader has an ugly personality. The fact that my brother is now dating Nancy literally makes me want to throw up every time I think about it. It is disgusting. I know my brother can do better than that. I pray that Sam gets the realization of how gross Nancy is and dumps her before they get married or something. They haven't been going out for very long but it would be my luck to get stuck with a sister-in-law like Nancy. I guess I get what I deserve though. The night that Carter and Brenda started seeing each other was the same night Sam and Nancy saw a spark. When the cake disaster fell into place, obviously no one wanted to help Nancy because she was being a spoiled brat, like always. Although my brother being who is, he sat down with her and assisted in wiping the cake off of her. Annabelle is in softball and has a wicked arm so she was able to throw the cupcake so perfectly that it practically exploded all over Nancy. It was the best thing I had ever seen. Like everything else that got ruined by Sam being a nice guy. He even led her away from everyone else who had ignored her completely so she wouldn't be embarrassed. I guess Nancy saw what a decent human being acted like and mistook it for admiration in Sam. I think she just wanted another person to tell her she is pretty all of the time. My brother got sucked into the vortex of Nancy's manipulation of other people to glorify herself. The worst thing is that I don't think he even knows.
I reach the drama room and right as I sit down the bell rings. I look around and see that Carter isn't in class yet. He probably lost track of time when being with Brenda. Carter has been really distracted with football and doesn't see Brenda very much. At this time of the year, football is all he can think about. Especially since he is a senior and is interested in playing college football next fall. Brenda says that every time she goes over to his house, he always ends up lifting weights or bench pressing with the equipment he has in his basement. He says he is training for next season. Brenda told me Carter is constantly training, like all the time. He wakes up and goes running, goes to school and when they hang out after school he does like 100 push-ups and crunches. Brenda says at first it was kinda strange but she got used to it and can't complain with the results.
Ten minutes after the bell and Carter walks in. People turn to look at him but that doesn't seem to bother him. He walks over to the teacher sitting at her desk and hands her a pass. Ms.D accepts it with no problem. Carter then comes to the back of the room and sits in his usual desk, next to me.
"You want to know something?" He whispers quietly over the loud noise of talking around us.
"What?" I reply.
"That pass was fake. I stole it from my last hour teacher and forged his signature." He admits with a smirk.
"No way! You gotta get me some of those!" I say jokingly. Although it would be nice to actually be able to pee with out being terrified that I'll be tardy and loose my exemptions.
"Haha. You got it , Sparks." He replies with a wink. I laugh and shake my head.
After a few seconds I say, "Hey! OMG! Did Brenda tell you about our crazy weekend?"
"What? No! What happened?" Carter asked and I told him about Annabelle jumping off the roof and then about Nancy and Sam's constant make-out sessions.
"Haha that doesn't surprise me. That sounds just like them." Carter replies.
"Nancy is the one who dared Annabelle to risk her life." I say still annoyed.
"Nancy is so annoying. I can't believe I went out with her." Carter says and I swear at this exact moment he made my best friend list. The rest of the hour, we ended up talking about crazy ways to get back at Nancy. My favorite is replacing her shampoo with gross green hair dye. I'm definitely going to keep that in my pocket.
