Joshua's pov
Mum was being all excited about the dinner. She said she wants me to meet someone important. Well, at least she's happy. We were already late because mum had to choose another dress. The other one got burnt. My fault, I was just trying to help to iron it and save time. In fact, it turned out otherwise.
It seems we were going to meet a person from a high-class. The restaurant was indeed fancy. No wonder mum told me to dress something formal. Anything, but tuxedo because I hated it. It makes the girls go crazy and be hitting on me wherever I go. Can I just be human for a day? It's so hard to be a inevitably attractive and good-looking creation of God in a daily life. Well, I guess I'm blessed to think on the bright side.
When we took our seats, Mr. Ahn was already waiting for us. I was a little surprised but probably it was business talk and luckily Paris didn't come along.
Then it happend. I thought somebody was going to take our order. I was attracted when the waitress was dressed so well until I realise it was actually Paris.
She took her seat that was the opposite of mine. She scrutinised me and I did the same. I don't understand why we were not into good terms but in this situation, everything was chaos. But I knew we both had to remain calm.
"I know you two are all curious in your minds and I won't waste my time either," Mr Ahn spoke in a formal way.
My mum looked at me and then at Mr. Ahn. "I hope you two are ready to know this," she said.
Paris's pov
If I could, I wanted to shut my ears or run away. I couldnt dare to listen the next sentence they're gonnna say. Was it an arranged marriage? Are they setting me up with Joshua? No way.I started to remember those dramas about arranged marriage because business and all that. I wasn't ready. I'm still 18, maybe they're setting it all up for the upcoming years. But still, I lost courage.
"You and Joshua are soon going to be step siblings" my dad explained.
I wasnt focused too much on what he said because in my head was my imagination. My future ruined being with Joshua, and having unhappy kids although they were beautiful because Joshua's gene.
"What?" My face was stoned.
"You father and I are getting married," Ms Hong answered in a calm tone.
Joshua and I stared at each other and we both excused ourselves to the washroom.
