chapter13
It has now been 3 weeks since I got released from the hospital. I only have a few brueses left but they are fading quite fast. I was now comfortable wearing my bikini again and also keen on working on my tan before summer is over. Dustin keeps telling me that I looked fine even with the brushes but I didn't feel fine.
Dustin has been very caring and helpfuf, making sure that I have everything that I need.
In the first week after i got released he would make me nice food and bring it to my room and for a few days even insisted on feeding me. I could not have asked for a better boyfriend.
It was now halfway through our summer vacation and I was happy that I am in a better mood than what I was at the beginning of the summer. The confusion about Dustin's feeling for me have been cleared and I am now looking forward to what our time at university will look like.
Shaking away the thoughts about university I made my way to the beach, Dustin asked me on a date that included me wearing something cute and to be at the beach at 7 pm. I tried asking him what we would be doing but he insisted in keeping it a secret.
As I walked on to the beach I was greeted with rose petals scattered on the sandy path. Following the trail of rose petals I found my way to an area just off the main beach where there was a little deck. When I was little my dad build it, it was a place where the adults could gather while watching the kids play.
Dustin was standing by a table set for 2, there was some food set up and sparkling grape juice next to the wine glasses.
"wow. " was all that I got out as I stepped on to the deck. Dusting pulled out one of the chairs for me and beckoned me to sit. Taking my seat I looked at all the ferry lights that hung from the roof. Dustin really out done himself tonight.
Taking his seat in from of me Dustin looked nervous. I outstretched my hand across the table so that I can hold his, by holding his hand I made it not shake so much.
"Why are you nervous? " If I didn't straight out ask him what's wrong I would never got an answer.
" Tonight is just special for me that's all. Let's not get our food cold. " he took his hand from mine and stared to eat.
I shook my head knowing it wouldn't get me any where Hy asking him out on it.
Looking down on my plate I was surprised by what I saw. There was baked potato along with grilled steak and a small salad. Smiling I dug in to my meal enjoying each bite.
While eating we chatted about how our summer was going good and even ventured into what we wanted to do after. Stuff like how we would make plans to have a date night at least ones a week.
After eating Dustin suggested that we go for a walk on the beach to enjoy the stars. He stood up and pulled out my chair for me, after getting up he took my hand and led me to the beach. We walked for a minute and came across a blanket laying on the sand, Dustin lead me to it and we sat there looking at the stars.
I enjoy looking at the stars it just shows you how small you really are and how big the universe around you is. Still looking at the starts I hear Dustin fiddling around trying to find something.
"Sky... " Dustin called for my attention.
Looking at him the nervousness that was on his face at the beginning of the night was back.
" Yes? " What is he up to. I look at his hand and see his I playing with a little boxs, the tipe of box you would get a necklace in when you buy it.
" I want to give you something that would show you just how much you mean to me and also something that represents a promise. " He opened the box and in it laing in silk is a sliver necklace with a key pendent. He picks it up and showed it to me.
I am amazed by the gift that he is giving me. I didn't expect anything like this from him.
" It's so beautiful. "My words could not express how beautiful this necklace is.
" The key is there to say that you have the key to my heart and the promises I'm making you tonight is that I will do everything in my power to make you happy and keep you save. " He's words brought tears to my eyes. How did I end up being so lucky, he is truly the man of my dreams.
