We stood in the heart of the city, right outside of the Seattle Art Museum. It wasn't crowded, however, there were a lot of people. "What now?" Jake asked. "Should we just go back to the hotel?" Alaina asked. "We can stay for a little bit," Cole said. "How long?" I asked. "Maybe an hour. Or thirty minutes." Cole answered. "Okay, should we split up?" I asked. "No," Cole replied. "I mean, I can go with Gabby and you go with Alaina?" Jake offered. "Jake, we all know that you just want to be alone with Gabby so you redeem your--"
"SHUT UP!" Jake wailed.
Cole snickered. I swear, he just takes pleasure getting under other people's skin. "That sounds fine to me." I agreed. Cole thought for a while. Then, "Meet back here in thirty minutes to check in, see if everything is going alright, okay?" Cole ordered. "Aye-aye captain," I said carelessly. "I mean it. I don't need anyone coming up missing." Cole said. "Can we go now?" I said rolling my eyes. "Cole." Alaina said antsy, she took his hand leading him towards the entrance, "Let's go have fun." She said. Cole went into the museum with Alaina. Jake and I were alone again. He entangled our fingers.
Our shoulder pressed against each other as we walked into the chilly and spacious museum. White cars were hanging from the ceiling. Curious. I heard a quiet chatter and shoes scuffing across the floor "Okay, let's go look around." He said, leading the way. We walked into a small area with a bunch of sculptures. It was a little too crowded for me, being my anxiety-ridden self. I stayed as long as I could before wiggling my way into the next room. I bumped someone's shoulder. "Sorry." I gasped. I didn't even look at the person, but I scurried my way out of there, dragging Jake along with me into the next room. "You okay Gabriella?" Jake asked. I felt the room grow colder and suddenly the vibe made me uneasy. "No..." I said, rubbing my temples, feeling them ache. "Okay, you were like... fine a second ago. What happened?" He asked. "I think I'm going to have a vision," I whispered, scratching my neck. His eyes grew wide, "What?" I nodded. Jake grabbed my wrist and led me through the museum, into a little private corner.
"A vision? Are you sure?" He said grabbing the sides of my face. I didn't answer. "Gabriella, if something is wrong, tell me right now," Jake said, serious. Well, I felt like I was going to have a vision a second ago, but now, I just feel...weird. "We have to find Cole and Alaina." Jake decided. "No, I'm fine now," I said, smiling. "But you were just--"
"It's okay. I'm fine." I interrupted.
Jake didn't look convinced. "I have to pee." I blurted quickly. "Huh?" He asked. "Like, now," I said. I walked to the bathroom around the corner, leaving Jake stammering. I burst into the girl's bathroom. It was empty, thank god. I felt like I was going to puke. I looked at my reflection.
My face was gray and I could see beads of sweat around my forehead and nose. What happened? I ran my hands under the automatic faucet and splashed some ice cold water on my face. My heart rate suddenly increased tenfold. I sat there with my face dangling over the sink, water droplets dripping from my nose. Now I feel like I'm about to faint."Not feeling too well, are we?" Said a voice, behind me. I spun around quickly. It took me a few good seconds to focus on the figure. There was a tall lean man, about in his early twenties. He had dark hair that reached the bottom of his earlobes and dark brown eyes. Bedroom eyes, Alaina would call it. His face had a bit of scruff on it as if he hadn't shaved in a few days. He was wearing all black and a black leather jacket. But his face. I knew that face. Maybe it was the fullness of his lips or his high cheekbones or his almond eye shape, but I knew. They looked so similar. He smiled at me, knowing what I was thinking. "Demitri," I growled.
Demitri's P.O.V
She stood at the sink narrowing her eyes at me, her face pale and sweaty. "What do you want?" She demanded, trying to be brave. I felt like facepalming myself. All these months chasing after them, and you'd think she'd learn what I wanted by now. "We've been over this." Was all I said. "Oh, I know what you want, so why are you coming to me about it?" She snapped.
"Well, you obviously don't know what I want then." I settled. "And what do you want?" She asked. She was annoying. "Where's my brother?" I asked. "Oh, yeah. That's where this conversation is going. How about...? Screw off." She growled. I chuckled. Cute. How cute. "I don't want to cause any trouble with you. So if you'd please be a dear and--"
