~*~ Chinatsu's P.O.V ~*~
We were walking down a dark ally, towards midnight, looking for a very dangerous kishin name Charlie Ferguson. He'd been killing many teenage girls, for what reason I don't know. All I have to do is kill him and take his soul, sounds easy to me...right? Ataru was beside me, walking silently, listening to the sounds of our breathing. We had been walking for about 25 minutes like this...and it was freaking annoying! So I decided to break the silence...
"Ataru...I-" I was cut off when he pulled me into a tight hug. I was shocked at first cause I didn't know what was going on, but then I melted into his embrace. I wrapped my arms around his waist, nuzzling my face into his hoodie. 'His scent.' I smiled. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry I didn't mean for this to happen. I was only trying to protect you. But I ended up worrying you instead. I'm so stupid...I'm sorry." he whispered as he squeezed me tighter. I closed my eyes and enjoyed this moment.
I enjoyed him, his voice, his hair against my cheek. "Don't be. I still love you. I knew it was for the best." I replied. He hugged me even tighter, and put his face in the crook of my neck. "I love you too." his voice was muffled by a ear piercing scream. We broke out of our embrace and hurried down the street. "Could it be him!" I said. "obviously!" he replied.
I ran as fast as my feet could carry me. In the short distance we could see a huge sharp looking figure, and a small frail one. "Ataru.." I said still looking ahead, but opening my hand. I heard a' hn' before a blinding flash of light lit up the sky. I felt a heavy belt in my have and smiled as I ran faster. In the upcoming view I saw a small girl, a child. The nasty looking creature raised his hand ready to slash the little girl in two. I brought my other hand to grab the other side of the hilt, jumping in the air, blocking the attack with Ataru.
He press's down harder before releasing and jumping a good 10 feet away. I brought my sword into a defensive position, watching his every move. "So you want to interfere, eh?" the kishin spat. I scoffed and brought my sword down by my side. I looked back at the child who was shaking in fear. My eyes softened, " Go hide somewhere, this won't be pretty." I warned. She quickly nodded and ran behind a dumpster. I returned to face the abomination in front of me.
"You," I said pointing my sword towards his face, "Are going to die tonight, and I will take your soul...by force of course." I said. (A/N: Haha I rhymed!) I could sense a lot of power leaking from him, he was going to be tough to beat. "Any last words?" he slurred, turning his brown fingernails into claws. I laughed. "Bring. It." He ran towards me, raising his claws to ATTEMPT to cut me. I jumped in the and brought Ataru down on him, but he blocked it, and somehow threw me into the alley wall. He charged at me bringing my sword to block his claws. A loud echo of metal agains metal was heard through out the alley. Yep this was gonna be a tough fight.
~*~ Ataru's P.O.V ~*~
This was no ordinary kishin, I could sense a great amount of power from him. He was not all human soul it was some this more...something dark. As I watched Chinatsu swing and slash me around I noticed something...more like some one familiar. Someone was coming, I looked up...no! I had to warn her!
As Chinatsu blocked me again, I chose to tell her now. "China! You need to run!" I yelled. "What?! No I have to kill him!" she yelled back blocking again. "Chinatsu listen to me! we need to get out of here." I yelled again. "No! I'm not leaving, I can't leave! Its. my mission to save this girl!" She replied. Suddenly a surging pain bit at my neck. 'damn it...' I screamed in pain. "Ataru?! What's wrong?!" I lost control of my weapon form, and felt myself change back. As I fell to the ground I griped at my neck desperately trying to stop the pain. "Ataru!" Chinatsu screamed. Black...everything went black....
A/N: CAUTION: cliffhanger!! XD soooooo BAM! I FINALLY updated! XDD Sorry it's so short....I'm I just soooooo lazy. All that time I had over the summer to do this and I only did this chapter cause gisselle_loves_you kept bugging me about it while I was at her house. The also threatened to shove 4 whole slices of pizza down my throat if I didn't eat! x'c she so cruel! So I dedicated this to her (Not because she threatened me with pizza or anything......help.me) because she's the reason I got my lazy asx up to do it. I am now a free shooting target for y'all. X'C JUST NOT THE FACE!!!!! Anywhores I hope you enjoyed this small chapter ( which I'm very ashamed of.) and read it to your hearts content. And excuse me for FORGETTING to add A/N's to the end of my chapters. School is back and even though it's been the first three days of 8th grade, that shizz is stressful.
