Darkness, that's all I could see; I couldn't tell which way was up or down. I couldn't even see my hand infront of my face. Suddenly I hear screaming....'Chinatsu!' She was screaming. Why was she screaming? Then it hit me; we were on a mission! I must've blacked out. I tried to open my eyes, but I couldnt, I couldn't move either. 'damnit damnit DAMNIT!' I could only hear, I couldn't help her. My partner. I'm her protector and I can't protect her. I wanted to jump up so bad but I couldn't my body was unconscious. 'Chinatsu...I'm sorry...' More screaming was heard. 'DAMNIT!!'
~•~ Chinatsu's P.O.V ~•~
I shouldn't have underestimated him, he was no ordinary kishin, he was remarkably strong. I pant heavily. All I've been going was doing and blocking, my attacks were useless. Somehing told me it was related to his blood. Could it have been shielding my blows. I clench my teeth. 'Damn... Ataru...I really need you.' "WELL, I've had enough fun, it's time to devour your tasty looking soul." he says slyly. "You must be stupid if you think I'm gonna give you my soul!" I breath. "So you still have fight in you?" he asks. 'It's time...' a voice, way to familiar says. 'Been along time Leon...' I smirk. 'Yea Chi-hime, it has...' 'haven't been called that since...' 'Yea...' Well here goes nothing. I bit my thumb, making crimson blood ooze out. I write '暗い炎' on my palm. I take in a deep breath. "KURAI HONO!" I yell blowing out black black flames. I breath heavily and watch as my 'dark flames' hit their target. 'I hope we got him...'
"Chinatsu!" a high pitched voice yells. I glance back to see a black trench coat holding a sythe defensively. "M-Maka..." When she made it she was on her hands and knees catching her breath. "I told you not to run all the way here tiny-tits!" soul(in sythe form) screams at the petite blonde. "Well...it was...very urgent...." she manages between breaths. "Now is not the time to argue! " I yell breaking them. "What are you doing here Maka? It's too dangerous for two one star misters to be here." I say. "I felt you're soul wave length....but I couldn't feel Ataru's..." she explains. "W-What..." Can't feel his soul...I look over to him. "Is he..." my breath hitches in my throat. "I don't know..." she says. Suddenly a dark chuckling was heard. We all turn around, standing right infront of us...
~•~ Maka's P.O.V ~•~
Once we made it to Chinatsu Ataru was passed out on the ground. I put my hands on my knees and take in a huge amount of air. Chinatsu was all beaten down and bruised, but her soul was stong and still huge. 'Odd...' "M-Maka..." she said confused. " I told you not to run all the way here!" soul scolded me. "But...it was...urgent..." I say between breaths. Then we got into a full out argument. "Now is not the time to argue!" Chinatsu breaks in, "What are you doing here Maka , it to dangerous for you two one star misters to be here..." she says. "I know but I felt your soul wavelength in danger and I couldn't feel Ataru's..." I say. Her expression quickly changed from worried to fearsome. She glanced at him, "W-What..." she gasped. Then a dark chuckle was heard making us snap our heads around to see a bark figure standing infront of...black flames? I couldnt see what he looked like; in fact the only thing that had contrast with his dark figure was his smoldering green eyes. "Well havent you grown up..." he said, his lips formed a smile. "You've destroyed my little puppet." A purple soul retracted from the dark flames and into the figure, giving him a purple aura. I glance at Chinatsu. "W-who is t-that?" 'His soul...it's so big....' Chinatsu broke out into a nervous sweat; a frown plastered on her face. "Maka," she said slowly," you take that little girl and get out of here..." she said. I looked around for a girl, when my eyes stopped on a dumpster. A small girl about the age of 5 or 6 stood terrified behind it. Her clothes were tattered and appeared to be a... hospital gown? "So we finally found you Aiko..." the voice boomed. I started to tremble, my hands tightening around soul. "It's okay maka, I won't let anything happen to you...I promise." his words calmed me. I nod. "Come on back, you know you can go for long without your medication..." it continues. Her small frame shakes terribly, and she cowers back further behind the dumpster, shaking her head no. "What did you do to her?!" Chinatsu yelled, clenching her fists. "Nothing that concerns you..." he growled. "Aiko darling come back home, I have a special treatment, just for you..." he snarls. She wimpered this time. "Maka, take her and leave now!" Chinastu's arm started glowing dark read, and started to for a sword like shape around her arm. "B-But-" "NOW Maka!" I nodded and ran over to the girl. She cowered lower behind the dumpster. "It's okay I'm not gonna hurt you..." I smiled, and held out my hand. Just when she was about to take it my name was yelled, "MAKA!!!"
~•~ Ataru's P.O.V ~•~
"MAKA!!!" What Maka?! I tried to move, to lift my self but it was useless. I could only hear. Lay unconscious helplessly. "What the hell is going on?!!" Suddenly I heard someone laugh. "Welcome brother..."the voice said. Suddenly I was in a white room. I look around the room for any sign of anyone else but it was just me. They chuckled again. "What's wrong? Oh I know you're completely and utterlessly useless." I clenched my fists and tried to retract my sword but couldn't. "What did you do to me!" I scream. "What did you do to yourself..." His voice echoed. "You should've listened to me...." "Shut up!" I grab my head. Leave me alone...
~•~ Soul's P.O.V ~•~
"Maka!" I scream, running towards her.
- Flash Back -
I watched as she ran over to the small girl behind the dumpster. 'What's up with this man...So not cool...' She reached out to her and as the little girl tried to grab her hand, a purple ray shot out of the man a towards her. I broke out, turning my hand into a sythe and ran over to Maka and just as it was about to collide with her body, it hit my blade arm. God it stung. I clean clench my teeth in pain. "S-soul..." I heard Maka gasp. "Soul!" Chinatsu yell running over towards us. The man laughed, "I'm not just done yet...not till blood is shed." I wicked smile spred across his face. This time multiple beams were sent our way. "Damn...it..." I say. "Don't worry, I got this." Chinatsu said. "China-" "No. You made a mistake in coming here take that girl and go!" The beams got closer and closer. "But-" "Now Maka!" I yell, grabbing her in my arms and the little girl and running down the street. I look back to see the beams hit Chinatsu...or so I thought. Just when I though they hit her a bright light blurred my vision. When the light vanished flames were every where, and there she stood unharmed. 'Wow...'
~•~ ???? P.O.V ~•~
'She has grown a lot...' I think looking her up and down. I lick my lips and, a devious smile runs across my lips. 'A lot indeed...' 'Master...' 'Yes Kaoru?' 'I have him...' his tone had sadness to it. 'Kaoru are you regretting this? Having second thoughts?' I say. 'No master...' her replied quickly. 'Remove all feelings, in order to success over all you must regret nothing.' 'Yes I understand...' After that nothing else was heard. I laugh dryly. Now to get to business.
