Ch 9 Finish It

A/N: Sorry for the huge gap. This book just really grinds my gears. One day I love it and want to write, write, write, but then the next day I feel like it isn't going anywhere, so I should stop writing for it. Tell me what you think.

"Bow your heads." Jackson's deep voice told his children as they joined hands around the table for grace.

It had been an eventful week for all of them.

Trey started working at Force Fitness to satisfy his dad. At 22 years old, it was his first job. He had absolutely no prior experience and it showed. Ironically enough, he was assigned to shadow his former sex partner, Jenn. They spent all day Tuesday and all day Wednesday together. Trey struggled to get her to like him. Whenever he tried flirting or cracking a joke, she shut him down like an Ice Queen.

Skylar, being a father first and a businessman second, didn't think twice when Trey asked him for a job. He gave his second love a good hourly wage, reasonable hours, and an easy position. The problem was, Trey was terrible. No matter what he had his step-son do, it all ended in disaster. On his first day, he had Trey stand at the exit of the weight room with a variety basket of protein bars. All he had to do was offer the members a complimentary post-workout snack. Skylar returned from a meeting and went to go check on him. Trey had ate all but three of the bars and wasn't even at his station. Then Wednesday, Skye thought it would be safe to have Trey sanitize the men's locker room. It only took two and a half minutes for the spoiled rich kid to go in shock. He had never cleaned anything other than his bong, and an entire five star locker room was a huge leap. With Thursday around the corner, Skye was just trying to spare Trey's feelings while not compromising his workplace.

Then things over at the high school were always fun to hear about. Every morning the twins and Jackson rode to school together, and since the football players were boycotting practice, they always made it home early.

Mason continued meeting with Kelly to discuss his plans for the student body. He found her to be a lot more fun to be around than his brother did.

"So, I've been thinking." Mason said, scooping a serving of mashed potatoes on his plate. "Brooke and my's birthday is about two months away. I can't speak for my twin, but I've been pretty well-behaved this year, so is it too early to start throwing out gift ideas?"

Skylar chuckled at his kid. "I've actually been meaning to talk to you guys about that." He cleared his throat. "I spoke with Natasha Cho, and she—."

"Who?" Jackson had a mouth full of steak and questioned the unfamiliar name.

"Dad, you don't know Natasha Cho?" Trey asked. "I even know her."

"Who is she?" Jackson was easily the least accustomed person at that table. He wasn't raised with a silver spoon like his husband and their kids.

"She's like the biggest event planner ever. She did Kylie Jenner's second wedding and I hear she's going to be over the VMA's next year." Mason said.

"Yeah, she's like really dope. She organized one party for some celebrity's kid, and all the guests got free puppies." Brooklyn added.

Skylar loved the high life with the elegant parties and wealthy company. It was probably where his kids got it from.

"We need a theme, an estimated number of guess, and since there really isn't a decent venue in town, I figure we can have it here." Skye said.

Everyone, with the exception of Jackson, started throwing out cool party ideas as they sat around the table. He just looked at them all, wondering how he let his offspring get so spoiled. Mason and Brooklyn were going back and forth between a fancy, but elegantly casual Black and White party and a spooky Halloween theme, since they were born on Oct 31.
