 Chapter 3:

Class flew so quickly. It was like one moment I walked into the classroom and sat down, started drawing, and then the next moment, the bell rang, and it was time to go to second period. Nothing really happened during the class, Mrs. White just kept going on about the rules and some other stuff that I really didn't catch and didn't want to know. Luckily, the only homework we got was to pay five dollars in order to rent the history book we would be using all throughout the school year.

As I was walking out of the classroom with Candice and Brandon, I yet again crashed into another hard body slightly, not as hard as the first, but still very firm. I shook that thought out of my head and stared at my second victim.

"Oh, my gosh. I am really sorry about that." I said trying to compose myself.

"Oh, that’s okay." he reassured me. When I realised I had crashed into a member of the opposite sex yet once again, I got excited and looked up to study the face of my latest prey. I stared up at him, and my mouth hung open. He was seriously hot.

"So, what's your name?" he asked me casually. I currently could not speak due to my luck. I mean, usually a guy as hot as him would never look at me twice, let alone try to make conversation with me.

"Um, I don't know." I replied back stupidly. He raised an eyebrow.

"Uh,. I meant to say my name is Alexandra. Yeah, that’s what I meant to say." Smooth, Alex, just smooth. He chuckled.

"Well, my name is Austin. Do you do this to all the guys that talk to you or is it only me?" Austin said cockily.. It took me a second to process what he just said before I replied.

"Psh. No. What? I have no idea of what you are talking about." I said, starting to panic.

"Relax,I was only joking." he said starting to laugh.

"Oh, I knew that," I said, even though I obviously didn't know that he was joking.

"Well, it was nice meeting you, even though the way we met was hardly formal." Austin said and then gave me a toothy grin.

"I know, right? I guess I'll see you around then." I turned around and crossed my fingers, hoping that he would like to hang out sometime.

"Wait, hold up." he said walking over to me. "I was wondering if we could hang out sometime," he added hopefully.

"Sure." I replied coolly. On the outside, I was playing it cool, but on the inside I was rejoicing and freaking out.

"Cool." Austin and I swapped numbers, and I literally skipped in the direction of my next class.

So far, so good. My science teacher was really nice, but I totally forgot her name. I mentally shrugged and started thinking about food. I was just about starving due to my lack of breakfast and blamed Jake for it. You see, Jake is the main cause for most of my problems or that’s what I like to believe. My thoughts were cut short when I heard my lunch bell. I quickly got up, packed up all of my stuff, and got out of the classroom as fast as I could.

"Lunch time,” I thought as I walked down the hall to the cafeteria. My tummy grumbled in reply. Candice caught up to me, and we walked to the lunch line together. Then I remembered I had no lunch money because Jake wouldn't give me any yesterday when I asked him, and I forgot to force him to give me some this morning. I groaned.

"Forgot your lunch money?" Candice asked knowingly.

"Yes." I replied, disappointed.

"Well, me knowing you like the back of my hand,  I saved you all the trouble and brought enough money for the two of us.” She pulled out a crinkled ten-dollar bill from her back pocket.
