So, I'm Lilah, and today I will be ranting about, school. Yes, I know education is important to help expand your mind, but sometimes, the reasons we fail things are ridiculous. So I went home sick on a Friday, to be specific, 2/26/16. I had a presentation in English about the stats of Iago (character from 'Othello') and my group members had presented without me. On the Monday after that, I proceeded right to my English teacher's desk, giving her my part of the project so she could put the grade in. But wait, she doesn't. She decides to bump my grade down to a 58! It's upsetting.
Learn how to do your job and keep track of my hard work instead of reflecting it on my grade. I'm already stressed out with other classes as it is. I don't need one added to the list. It's not my fault that NYC has bipolar weather, or that a man on the bus spread his germs everywhere, and got me sick. Maybe I should've stayed in school, and get my whole class sick. Because apparently in this society, my education matters more than the effort I put into my work. I worked all night on that paper, and I'm not about to have a fight with my mother because my teacher does not know how to grade things properly. Being a freshman is easy, but there's just those moments when you want to pull your hair out and scream, because, let's be honest.
Most of us would rather be on vacation, having fun and living life while we're still young, instead of being piled with the sometimes stressful and big loads of homework. I mean. Look at Johnny Depp. He supposedly dropped out of high school and now the guy is a freaking actor. I'm just saying, the stuff you learn in school, will not help you when you need to do taxes, because instead of teaching you how to buy a house, or learn to pay your taxes, they are teaching you MX+B. when will I ever need to use that in my life again. Probably only once, because if I have kids, I'll know what to say when they are learning the same stuff a billion years from now. But anyways, I have to be a good role model sooo
Stay in school or whatever.
