15) You Like Me Or Nah?

"Its about time Friday came," Riley says as he shuts his locker. "I literally did a dance around my room."

"Man you should be," Caesar says back. "Your in trouble. I heard you skipped out on detention yesterday. Nigga the principal ain't gonna go easy on you."

"Man fuck the principal!"

"Riley seriously. Homecoming is coming up soon, he could banned you if you don't behave."

"Nigga hush wit that gay ass shit."

Caesar rolls his eyes as his eyes dart to the end of the hallway. Riley sees his eyes widen and frowns. "Nigga what you lookin at?" He follows his gaze. "Uh oh!"

Huey frowns when he sees Andrew in his next class P.E class, and that frown turns into a glare when he sees Ming too. Her brown eyes meet his and she stiffens. They both glare hard at each other, just until the whistle blows and shakes them back to reality. As they line up on the field, Ming glances down at her ankle, a deep frown forms on her face. The couch announces that they'll begin by stretching, then do some sprints, girls against boys, for fun.

The girls, including Jazmine and Ming line up next to the boys. Huey notices he's in line with Ming when its close to his turn. Ming sees this too and smirks slightly as they move forward for their turn.

They kneel.

"On your marks...get set...GO!"

At the exact same time, Huey and Ming sprint off, so fast that they leave dust behind for their classmates to cough in. They run furiously, both glancing at each other so that one can't beat the other. Too into the competition, they sprint passed the finish line together and into the building, ignoring the coach's whistle.

Caesar and Riley, too distracted keep staring. "Is that-"

Whoosh!

"Nigga!!!" They both yells as the two speed past them, falling on the floor. "Fuck you!" Riley yells as they disappear down the hall.

Caesar rubs his head. "Well. Its better than fighting..."

The class still crowds at the door, all wanting to go in, including Cindy and Mindy. Cindy glances the way where the rapid steps are coming from and squints her eyes, "The fu-"

Woosh!

"The hell??" Everyone watches as the new Chinese girl and Huey Freeman race down the hall. Caesar and Riley jog to them. "Did ya'll see-"

"Yep!"

"They went down the hallway," Mindy says. "Aren't they supposed to be doing P.E?"

"What's gonna happen when they stop running...?" Caesar asks.

They all glance at each other before sprinting after them. "Guys!"

"You are going down!" Ming manages to say between breaths.

"Not before I take you down first!" Huey yells back. They look foward, noticing they're no longer on the field and now on the campus, around the entrance. They both glance at each other before stopping, right at the pavement before jumping into the road. Realising how much they ran, they both breathe hard.

"I...beat you..." Ming gasps.

"No...I..." Huey inhales. "...beat you..."

They both stand straight and look at each other. Ming swipes some sweat away from her forehead with the back of her hand and holds her fists up. Huey raises an eyebrow before doing the same.
