Dream or Nightmare? (Artemis Fowl Fanfic)

Chapter 6

3rd Person POV

Captain Holly Short could look really shocked if she felt so. And apparently she did feel so as she was standing frozen near the open window with a blanched face. Artemis strode over to her after checking for a pulse at Rosalinda's wrist.

"H-h-how in the world does she know the word 'D'arvit'?" Holly stammered, recovering from her shock.

"I doubt 'D'arvit' qualifies as a word, Holly," Artemis commented airily.

"Artemis!" the captain of the LEPrecon snapped, fully back to herself.

"Her name is Rosalinda Maryn Joseph and apparently, she is part of another dimension. She appeared on my doorstep today after you were called," the Irish teenager replied.

"That still doesn't answer her question," another voice called out. Artemis did not even turn around.

"No, it certainly doesn't. If you could be a bit more patient, a trait you obviously don't possess, then I could explain," he stated dryly. A centuar with a tinfoil hat flashed up on a laptop screen that was sitting on top of one of the tables.

"Finally! I made it! Good thing your firewall suddenly collapsed with my continued efforts, eh Artemis?" Foaly shouted in victory.

"Yes, indeed. A really wonderful thing I did to allow a certain centuar in to my networks, Foaly," Artemis smirked at the screen.

"Hmph. Might've still cracked it, though..." Foaly muttered sullenly.

"Enough! Answer Holly's question, Artemis!" Commander Kelp bellowed. He, being the one that had arrived after Holly and interrupted Artemis at first, was standing beside Rosalinda's unconscious form.

Suddenly, the door flew open and Butler's large body was framed by the doorway.

"Hello, Butler," Artemis greeted him wearily.

"I see Holly and Kelp brought along Foaly as well?" Butler questioned him.

"Brought along as much as you can order a IT genius to hack into Artemis's manor through technology. Apparently, Artemis here expected me and allowed me in," Foaly grumbled.

"Ah, we-" Butler was cut off by the rather irate human genius.

"-can go downstairs now. Butler, bring Rose along, please," he instructed and left the room. Holly and the commander exchanged worried glances and went after him, Holly picking up the laptop with Foaly on the screen before leaving. Butler sighed and picked up the unconscious human girl in his arms and headed down to find the others as well.
