Hayden came out of the bathroom all dressed and ready for his lecture to find me curled up on the couch hugging a pillow. I look at him in his grey shirt with a plaid over shirt one and jeans. Of course his outfit was topped off with a beanie. I look away at the newspaper that I had slammed on the coffee table. Hayden looks at the newspaper and picks it up. He examines it then crumples it up and throws it away. Hayden sits down at the end of the couch. He grabs my hands to sit me up beside him. I snuggle into him like a baby and he puts his arm around me. We stay like this until his phone starts ringing. Hayden takes his arm off of me and takes his phone out of his pocket. He smiles and answer it.

"Hey, what's up? Yeah I'm just about to leave man." Hayden says standing up and walks out of the room. I bite the inside of my cheek. Every time... I think in my head. I stand up and walk into my bedroom. The bedroom is small, but we managed to fit a queen sized bed which was nice. I sit on the bed. I take my phone off my bed stand a turn it on. I have a text message from Jade. She's asking if I wanted to come over for a little bit tonight. I reply quickly with a yes and look in the mirror. My hair has only grown about two inches in the last five years. I have grown about three inches though. Hayden walks into the room and grabs his school bad from the ground. Hayden walks next to me and puts a hand on my shoulder. I push it away and walk out of the room. I go back into the kitchen and grab a water from the counter. Hayden follows me and is in the entrance to the kitchen. He smiles at me but I turn away.

" What's the matter? Are you okay?" Hayden asks leaning against the door frame. I look at him again then turn away quickly.

" Nothing. I'm fine." I reply looking at the ground. Hayden walks up to me and puts his arms around me. I put my head into his chest and I can feel his heartbeat. I smile as he holds me. His watch beeps telling him it's time to go. We pull away and he kisses me on the forehead.

" See you tonight, okay"? Hayden says.

" Okay." I reply.

" Love you." Hayden says walking out of the room.

" Love you more!" I yell playfully.

" I love you most!" He yells back and I hear a door slam. I smile. He tries to make me smile and laugh. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But, at least I know he's trying.
