Marinette's POV

I'm frozen. Completely frozen. Adrien Agreste is finally kissing me of his own free will and I can't freaking move! What's wrong with you, Marinette? Pull yourself together! Reaching up, I hook up arms around his neck and finally begin to respond. His lips are soft and warm and every point of contact between us is making my skin tingle. This is better than amazing, I think dreamily. I don't know how whether a few seconds or a whole hour passes before we pull apart but it feels like an eternity to me. We simply look at each other after, breathing heavily and smiling uncontrollably.

He leans his forehead against mine, "You have no idea...I've been waiting so long to do that. It's been so hard to concentrate around you since I found out."

"I'm sorry," I reply, "for earlier. I was just confused and overwhelmed."

"What?" He pulls back slightly to really look at me, "Marinette, I would've waited a lifetime for you. Don't you get that? I love you, no matter who you are."

I want to cry at the sweetness of what he's saying. He's so gentle and kind and understanding. I can't fathom how someone like him could love someone like me. I pale in comparison to his virtue and humility. You also pale in comparison to his kissing abilities. Those lips...Leaning upwards, I bring my mouth to his again and sigh as we settle into the kiss. There's something so natural about the way we interact with one another, as though we've been doing this for years. At yet, there's something new about this kiss as well. It's different from the last one. Maybe even better. I don't think I'll ever get enough of his soft lips on mine and the way fireworks explode between us whenever we touch. Is this what love is like? Because I don't think I'll ever be able to get enough of it.

The clearing of a throat makes up jump apart. There's a traumatized looking Plagg and an amused looking Tikki staring at us from only a few feet away. I blush.

"As much as I love seeing you two finally get together," Tikki says, "don't you think we should move inside instead of just hanging out here in the open where anybody could see Plagg and me?"

Shaking myself from my kissing-induced haze, I nod, grabbing Arien's hand. "Sorry," I apologize, "we weren't really thinking."

"Yeah," Plagg snorts, "that's because you were too busy swapping saliva."

Tikki gives him a soft nudge and we all move inside to the living room. There Adrien and I sit down together, facing one another. Seeing that we need some privacy to discuss what just happened, the kwamis move into the other room. I watch them go then bring my gaze back to Adrien. To my surprise, he's bright red.

"That's my color!" I joke, trying to lessen his embarrassment.

He gives a nervous burst of laughter, "S-sorry...I'm just...can I ask you something?"

"Of course," I nod, "anything."

He hesitates, rubbing the back of his neck in agitation. I'm kind of worried. His mood has changed so drastically from the happy and satisfied Adrien on the doorstep. Now he's jumpy, nervous, and clearly debating whether or not to ask me something.

"Mari," he finally says, "will you be my girlfriend?"
