Im not one to be in the topic of gossip! I am one to be alone. A loner. I am a teenage bystander. I live life hidden from my peers. But I live through it loving every minute of being the real me. I prefer to be who I am than a plastered clone. I can’t say I ever wasn’t one. But I came to my senses. As I walk through the crowded cafeteria. I pass all the common groups of high school.
You’ve got the Barbie’s, the Jocks, the Plastics, the Talented, the Middle-class, the Emos, the Goths, the Nerds.............One left. My table- population: 1. That’s right ME! No one wants me. Not even the freaks want me. And what I say is ‘who cares’. They used to worship the floor I walked on. Now ive been disowned, 2 years ago. But I have no complains.
I am Ella Jenson, Im 17 and I go to Ferndale high. Im an average typed girl. Flat stomach, olive toned tan, straight sleek brown hair that ends at my lower back, crystal blue eyes, average sized breast’s, clear skin. I wear out there clothes. I like to be different. If their wasn’t different people then there would be no fun in the world! I sit at the lone table in the shadowed corner. The noise around me muffles and I block them out.
I eat in peace and read or write to pass the time. Occasionally a few newbie’s come by and some of them get a chance to join the ‘IT’ crowd. Normally there is some type of initiation. Most likely to involve me and some sort of childish prank. But I cut them a break. And forget they ever did it. The Barbie behind the irritating out lashes. Rachel!
My once bestest BFF to back-stabbing enemy. Ever since I left the 'it' crowd she made sure that if any embarrassing prank was put on anyone it would be me. Of course she was top girl of our grade. Year 11. Head cheerleader. Dating top jock. Everyone feared her except her new bff’s and me. I listened to my iPod bouncing along to the beat. Tapping my feet and making a noise on the table. A few passers glared then hurried away. I hummed along to supermassive black hole. Then words escaped my lips.
“Ouuu baby dont you know I suffer?
Ohhh baby cant you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretences.
How long before you let me go?
Ouu you set my soul alight. Ouu you set my soul alight.
Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive...”
I was struck with a bottle to my forehead. I glanced up to see Rachel smirking. Wrapping her small (easily breakable) arms around her large footballer, Eric. The rest of the Barbie’s laughed and some of the schools sport teams. All the girls clung to their guys. Eric had and irritated look on his face. I remember when I was friends with him. He was so kind to everyone. But since he started dating Rachel he became her slave.
He really cared about her and so he did what she wanted to make her happy. If only she cared for him… She motioned for the new footballer who had already made a name for himself as the next leading star in less than a week to fetch the bottle. Before he wondered over she whispered something into his ear. He paused and strained his way closer.
I stood up and glided around the front of the table to face him. I picked up the half filled bottle of diet-coke. The new guy Jason paced to the table in less than four long strides. He was tall. I looked up at him. He opened his mouth to say something but shut it in a blink.
“Let me guess Initiation?” I gave a sly smile. He looked up with a stunned expression. I handed him the bottle. He slowly gabbed it and twisted the bottle off. He was taking forever. I think he was giving me a chance to run. But I don’t run from it. I chase it!
“Im Sorry...” He muttered and poured the liquid contents on top of me. Soaking my entire body. The snobs just laughed harder and louder. Eric’s bewildered expression made my heart falter. I was really close with him. I pushed past the frozen Jason. And strutted up to Princess Rachel. She smiled devilishly.
“Awww poor poor Ella. Why so wet? Did you have a little accident?” She teased.
“Cram it princess! Why don’t you go munch on a carrot?” I was referring to her obsessed air eating disorder. She stood up infront of me. Obviously offended by my remark.
“What ever. No one care’s about you! You’re a nobody. You’ll just grow old and die in a dark corner all alone.” She smirked.
“Sticks and stones Barbie!” I laughed as I went to get cleaned up. She fumed and stopped her foot on the ground. She didn’t have a comeback which gave me the last word. I hopped through the hall as I heard footsteps creeping up behind me. I turned to see Jason with a look of regret.
“Wait...... Hold up, Wait” I paused. Allowing him to catch up.
“Listen… I .. Im sorry about that.... Its just im trying to fit in...And....”
“Yeah I know” I cut in. He looked up at me with a dumb-founded expression. He tilted hid head sideways and curled his lips in a mouthwatering smile which made my heart skip a beat. I stood there gawking infront of him.
