I hadn't even known how long I'd been sitting in Aileen's room when Lukas walked in. "Hey Alissa why haven't you gone?" Lukas asked me, knowing that his sister had left quite some time ago. I looked up at him and uncovered my inflamed cheek, making him gasp and rush over to me. He knelt down between my legs and turned my face gently, pondering my cheek. "Did Aileen..." he trailed off, connecting his terrific blue orbs with my dismal sea green ones. I nodded, biting my lip restlessly and blinking back a few tears. He stood up slowly, taking my hand and leading me up as well. He then walked me towards the bathroom and sat me down on the closed toilet, then he rushed over to the cupboard and pulled out a black package, in which he brought back over to me.
Lukas opened up the package, revealing a few lax doctor's tools, a gauze pad, some small bandages, a cloth wrap, a tiny container of clear liquid, some thick tissue, and a needle and thread. He set the package on the ground and eyed my cheek again, then grabbed the little container and some tissue. He emptied a bit of the liquid onto the tissue and slowly dabbed it on my face. "Ow..." I whined, scrunching up my nose. The liquid was cool but it stung terribly. "Sorry, it's going to sting." he told me indifferently, not taking his eyes from his work.
After about a minute, Lukas disposed of the tissue and then brought up another little container of cream in which I hadn't seen before. He unwrapped a larger small bandage and spread some of the cream mildly on the bandage pad. then he placed it on my cheek and smoothed over the stickum of the dressing. "There you go. Good as new." Lukas glowered, smiling widely at me. I smiled back and said, "Thank you." He nodded and peered into my eyes again. He was so beautiful and happy, nothing like Aileen who I was slowly beginning to loathe.
Neither of us had noticed yet that Lukas's hand was still on my cheek, his thumb slightly stroking my face. I did, however, notice his actions when he fondled my face too roughly and the pressure made my injury hurt. I peered down at his hand hastily and brought my own hand up to his. Lukas pulled away and mumbled, "I'm sorry Alissa." He stood up and shook his head; he must have mistook that his romantic gesture was pestering me.
I jumped up as well and went over to him, looking straight up into his eyes. "No it's fine." I told him, taking his large hand and playing with his fingers. "No it's not, I really need to stop this. I am going to get in so much trouble all because I-" Lukas paused abruptly, looking down to his feet. He backed up from me and went to the bathroom counter, taking a seat on it.
Clasping his hands together in his lap, he said, "Because I like you. As someone I would want to marry and have kids with, not as a friend. Alissa you are so beautiful and smart and sure you can be trouble but I don't care! I wish I were as brave as you. I heard you talking to Aileen and all that you said... It was so true and I wish I could have ran in and spat at her with you. I wish I could be with you."
He stared at me fervently, waiting for my response and most likely hoping it wasn't a rude one. I grinned and strode towards him slowly, undoing his hands and taking them in mine. "I really like you too Lukas. You're the most lovely boy I've ever met and I am elated to be able to tell you that and be with you! I wish I could be with you too!" I cried, not being able to stop smiling.
Unexpectedly, even to me, I jumped up onto Lukas's lap, straddling his waist with my legs. I placed my hands softly on his shoulders and he fixed his hands right about my waist on my sides. We both leaned, crushing our lips together. I closed my eyes as I felt a sort of electricity buzz through me, it felt so right to kiss him. His lips were soft and he was so gentle with me. I deepened the kiss, leaning into him more so our chests were touching.
After a bit of kissing innocently (or as innocently as it would be if we weren't living in Briar), I felt Lukas's tongue graze my lower lip. I wasn't sure what to do so I just opened up my mouth more, letting his tongue enter through my lips. We played for a while, almost reenacting little kids playing with toys. It was so passionate and raw to be with him and I could feel all of the appropriateness in our actions. It couldn't have gotten any better, I even remember forgetting what was happening.
Suddenly, Lukas pulled away from me, taking a deep breath and then exhaling. "What?" I asked him anxiously. He looked at my face, eyeing my nose, lips, eyes, even hair at one point. "Alissa we can't do this. I am three years older than you. You're still in school. And I am supposed to get my marital assignment in four months. This is practically a felony." he uttered, shaking his head at me. I took my hands from him and removed myself from his warm lap. I felt empty and fatigued not being able to touch him.
We stood in silence for some time, staring at each other or the floor, just thinking. "Lukas..." I whispered, tucking some loose strands of hair behind my ear, like I often do. "Hmm?" he murmured, staring at the floor.
"Do you want to take a risk?"
