Land of the Hidden

The six realms

Dumping her bag on the floor, Ria threw herself onto her bed and stared at her domed ceiling with the constellations painted on it. It felt good to be home. Her phone buzzed and she rolled on to her stomach to reach her bag.
Mumma: hi Ria! I'll be home later than usual today. Still can't find that poor runaway faerie. Missy should be home soon. There is some pasta in the fridge. You can heat it up, daddy will be home late too.

Ria sighed, her mother worked at the lost mythicals office and often had to work late. Ria was a Laquiel. An old type of nymph that dates back to 50000 B.C. Laquiel are the protectors of all mythicals. Mythicals are elves and faeries and the like. Jared was a Laquiel too, Tammika was sky nymph, Raphael a Yueel, Yueels were the messengers. They were the people who, many years ago, would've passed news of kings and queen and such, now though they would spread news of missing mythicals, parties and gatherings. Yueels were notorious for being spies during the great wars. There had been no wars since 1200 so not many people held grudges anymore. Louise was a tree nymph, a descendant of the tree spirits but not as powerful. They were all mortal it was only the elders, the first generation, that could live forever.

Tammika, being a sky nymph, lived in the sky realm. There were six adjacent realms: Laquien (realm of the Laquiel), the realm of the Yueel, the sky realm, the tree realm, the faerie realm and the water realm. Together these six realms made up Mythica, land of the hidden.
Tammika sat down at her desk, unlocking her phone as she did so. The sky blue walls of her room were covered in painted birds and butterflies in many different colours she loved her room, her mother had repainted it for her as a birthday gift last year. Tammika opened google on her phone and typed in: www.loth.myth which would redirect her to a site created by mythicals were you could find all sorts of things about the land of the hidden aswell as land of the hidden TV shows, youtubers and podcasts. Tammika spent her afternoon watching her favourite TV show about a human who discovered The Land of the Hidden called 'lost and found'.

Louise lay down on her bed and put her headphones on. Her younger brother Nate came in and started bouncing a football against the wall obnoxiously. Annoyed, Louise told him to leave. He pretended not to hear and continued. Quickly, Louise shot vines out of her hands to catch the ball, grabbing it just before he caught it. He stomped his feet "Louise! Give it back!"
She threw the ball into the hall, "go play in your own room." Nate rolled his eyes but left, Louise was powerful for her age and Nate knew that messing with his older sister was a bad idea.

All five of them had powers. It was very normal in the land of the hidden, powers always coincided with what you were: the tree nymphs had vines, the sky nymphs lightning, the Yueel could move with the speed of sound. The Laquiel could make force fields and the more experienced could shoot deadly rays out of their hands.

It was not unusual for Raphael to get headaches but this one was the worst he had ever had. It felt like his head was going to both implode and explode at the same time. Not even the strongest aspirins his mother had made the slightest difference. He lay down on his bed and passed out within seconds.
