Driving along in that old Mercedes, Louise, Raphael, Jared and Ria were closer than ever. They squabbled like siblings on that journey, Louise would play Justin Bieber over her phone, Jared would tackle it out of her hands and turn it off, Ria would swear and Raphael would shout out them all to shut the hell up before he drove them into a ditch. Ria hadn't told the others about Clodagh, she hadn't found the right time to. No matter how hard she tried Ria couldn't forget Clodagh's hollow cheek bones and sunken eyes, the scars that went up and down the Elitians arms and the rope burns around her wrists.
"Ria? You ok?"
Ria was sitting in the back seat next to Louise. She looked up from staring out of the window.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine."
She sat up straighter and smiled slightly. Louise smiled back comfortingly.
"We'll get Tammika back don't worry."
Raphael reassured her.
"And we'll find Clodagh,"
Jared added.
Ria nodded "I know."What they found odd was that while they drove, they never passed another soul. Thankful though they were, this unnerved them slightly. Surely after five days they should have come across someone? Two days after Clodagh had come, they finally ferville. It was deserted for all but one big house in a square that seemed to be guarded by two Elitians.
"Do you think that's where Tammika is?"
Jared asked
"Possibly, although that might just be a trap. Clo said they knew we were coming."
The others stared at Ria, she reddened realising what she had said.
"When did you talk to Clodagh?"
Raphael demanded. Ria looked at her feet.
"While you were asleep in the barn. She came and we talked. Said she'd lead them away from us."
"And you never thought to mention it?" Louise asked exasperatedly.
Defensively Ria looked away,
"Can we just focus on saving Tammy?"
Raphael rolled his eyes but nodded sullenly.
"So, how do we go about this? Do we assume Tammika is being kept in there or?" Worriedly Jared stared at the church-like building. Slowly Louise nodded.
"Ria?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you have the knives?"
Silently, Ria passed out the Elitian blades.
"Well," she said opening the car door "shall we?"
