Black coffee steamed like freshly poured tar
She paved roadways to long nights and funny 2am thought patterns
You shot up like she was heroin's fraternal twin
She was anti-heroin
And- not quite a hero-
She was your anti-heroine
She was caffeinated acid rain
On the mountain of your insurmountable heart
Trickling down and poisoning the lands of your body
Via the contaminated rivers of your veins
Too much of her gave you the jitters
And not enough left you nonfunctional
After that first sip
The mark left was indelible
The impact felt:
Through her I will conquer the world
I shall go on forever

- nights spent wired
