Chapter 3/Florida

I woke up to the sound of driving. I look over to Luke.

"Good morning beautiful,"Luke said before he yawned, "Took all night but were in Florida." 

"Good morning, I can drive if you want,"I said as I moved my chair back up.

"If you want, i'll put in the GPS where we are going, I should rest up in case I have to rescue your ass again," Luke said with a smirk.

"Haha funny now stop the car."I laughed

We pulled over to the side and I got in the driver seat. Luke fell asleep pretty quickly. I followed to where the GPS told me to go. We got onto a highway and there was a lot of traffic, I don't know if they are fleeing from the disease or if Florida always has traffic. I have been to Miami and there was a lot of Traffic so. Since we weren't moving  I pulled out my phone and checked Instagram. I saw so many video of those man eating people things. I put my phone down and waited for the cars to move. I reached for my backpack and grabbed a bag of chips. I'm pretty healthy but hey why not eat junk once in a while. All of a sudden I heard a faint noise, probably someone honking up ahead. I turned around to see the cars behind us backing up and driving away. I knew something was wrong. I didn't want to wake up Luke so I just stayed alert. This time I heard the noise louder. I heard some screaming too. The noise was even closer now and it sounded like a gun shot. I put the car in reverse and started to back up. People came from the cars running. People were telling us to run. I turned the car around and sped away. I looked at the mirror above and saw people attacking other people. Its the same thing from the gas station! I pressed hard on the gas and was dodging people left and right. I got off the highway and saw that there were more sick people attacking. THEY ARE ZOMBIES. I dodged some more zombies and headed on an empty street. Another zombie came out of nowhere and I hit it with Luke's car. Luke woke up.

"What the hell was that,"He yelled grasping for his breath.

"The zombies were on the highway attacking people and the street behind us is over run with zombies!"I yelled holding tight onto my seat belt.

"Get out of the driver seat ill drive us there another way but we need to get out of here now!"Luke yelled as he got out the car.

I ran out the car, I hit the zombie in the head so it was dead dead. I got into the passenger side and put on my seat belt. Luke stomped on the gas and we sped off. We toke the back roads. We finally reached Jacksonville. We got to the beach where his friends boat and car shop was set up. Luke parked his car in one of the garages. We got out.

"Rico, you here?"Luke yelled out.

"Im right here brotha," Rico yelled back.

A short man walked out from the back of the store.

"Who's this sexy women you brought!" Rico said as he looked me up and down.

"Shut your little mouth, the only thing sexy will be your blood on my knuckles," I snapped back

"A feisty one to Luke," Rico laughed. "We cant talk to long brotha ill give you to keys to the boat and garage if you come back for the car, I have to get the hell outta here and catch my plane to Egypt, i'm waiting things out there since things are going to hell down here, so get out i'm closing up shop."

"Damn, good luck and stop hittin on my girl," Luke laughed as he toke the keys from Rico and patted him on the back

"Your girl, you wish," I blushed back. Secretly glad he said that.

We took our supplies and food from the car and placed it on the boat, it was a yacht, a really nice boat. Rico gave us a map to different places with gas for the boat and different islands to tie the rope up to the boat and sleep there.

"Thanks Rico, good luck out there," Luke said as he untied the boat.

"Wait!" Rico yelled as he ran to the back of the shop. 

He came back out with a full duffle bag.

"Take this, you might need it."Rico said as he handed the bag to Luke.

"Thanks, good luck,"Luke said as he shook Rico's hand

Luke handed me the bag and told me to put it in his cabin. I opened it up to see what was inside and it was full of guns and different knifes. I put it in his bed and headed up to the deck.

Luke started the boat and headed up into the Atlantic ocean. On a new journey.
