Aria reached the bar's door, knowing eyes were on her she smiled to herself. She'd always loved being the centre of attention and being the mysterious new girl in town fit perfectly. She looked down at her pale hands, rubbing them on her dark jeans and pulled her khaki jacket closer to her body. The sudden wind blew a few dark strands of hair into her face, covering her glazed, blue eyes. She hesitated for a few seconds having no idea where to look first, she had no idea who to look for first. She bit the inside of her cheek, thinking before she spun around, going back into the building and over to the three that were watching her still.
" Seen as you're all so interested, maybe you can help me. Where can I find the Dubois'." she demanded, not caring who answered her.
Aria looked between all their glances to each other, narrowing her eyes. The icy-eyed man, shifted in his seat.
"How about you tell us who you are first, then we might just remember where they are."
He shrugged, an offering hand put up.Aria glared at him, her impatience boiled inside of her, the smile didn't return to her glowing face. She rolled her head round to the side to look at the whole bar and in one swift movement, she stepped closer to them, slowly bending down to the answering man.
"You have no concern for who I am." She whispered into his ear.
Aria straightened, raising a brow to all of them. The boy sat with the two, warily eyed Aria, with a mix of fear and anxiousness. Aria sighed, slightly taken aback, taking a few steps away and relaxing. Once she was more calm she approached them again, this time opting for a different route.
"This is the last time I'm going to ask before I do something that I don't usually do: do you know where the Dubios' are?" She asked to the girl who was with the two men, catching her gaze and staring right at her.
"I don't know who you think you're talking to but -" The girl started but got cut off by the blue-eyed man, putting his hand out gesturing her to stop talking.
"I asked who you were." He said with an annoyingly calm voice. Aria always despised calm people in situations where she wanted answers and fast.
Aria felt the anger starting to appear inside her and before she could stop herself she was compelling the blue-eyed man who decided to challenge her. She was Aria Marguerite Dubois, she wouldn't be spoke to that way.
"Where are the Dubios'?" She asked, her voice full of anger. Her fist slammed down on the table, her eyes glowing a fierce, radiant red.
"They live here in, Osthill. In the mansion on the outskirts." He told her, his voice less sure than his previous tone.
"A mansion." She laughed modestly. " They've done well for themselves."
She smiled, getting the information out of him. She looked at his two companions stares of confusion and amazement and smiled, tilting her head to the side and backing up, turning around when she finally got to the door. Opening it, she made her way to her car, looking down the street. She didn't care whether she drove around this little town all night, she would find her family. After all, a mansion couldn't be too hard to find.
She jumped into her car, getting in and starting the ignition.
Aria had probably driven down every street in the little town twice or three times over, still seeing no sign of any mansion inside the town. The music was slow and drowning, she flicked the button to change the station. Her phone dug into her thigh through her pocket, she leaned over to take it out throwing it onto the seat next to her. She continued to drive down the dark, dim-lit road and casually sat back in the driver's seat.
Aria drove for a few hours through the town, finally giving up when she saw the sun rise, deciding to turn back around and head to find somewhere to stay. On her way, she found a wandering young woman along a deserted road, with it being 7am. She pulled over, knowing it would be an easy kill and not wanting the normal chase she'd thrive off.
"Hello.." Aria called out to the woman, walking round to see her face. Her hair was matted against her forehead, and she was panting frantically. She had a small graze on her cheek. The energy was basically radiating from the girl. She resisted for a moment, staring directly at her. She had no answer, to the pleasure of Aria she knew she wouldn't fight back. She kept her eyes on the woman and grabbed her wet hair, roughly pulling it down, their eyes meeting at a level. Veins in the young girl's neck pulsated under her flesh, her heart beat picking up. Aria shut her eyes, rolling her head back and pressing her mouth against the woman's neck. Blood slowly began to flow through Aria's veins, transferring from her prey's, the redness of her blue eyes glowed with it.
She threw the dead human on the floor, disregarding the fact it had ever had a life. To Aria humans were a means to an end, forgetting she was once human up to the age of 17, she didn't care for human life she only cared for the source of life it gave her. She stepped over the body, remembering this is not the town she compelled to forget every death that fell upon them. She grunted, grabbing the girls arms and pulling her over her shoulder and dumping her in the boot of her car. She scrunched her nose up disgusted with the fact she had to dispose of the body herself.
She drove through the outskirts of the town, rain now showering from murky clouds, finding a bridge over a lake. She smiled to herself not having to have the dead body in her boot any longer. She pulled it open, revealing the lifeless form, which she more than happily threw over the side of the bridge into the water beneath. She would be classed as missing and her family could grieve like any normal family with a lost child, sister or wife.
A few miles down from this point was a motel, run-down but at least it would offer her a cheap bed. The sign flashed in the distance, catching Aria's eye.
She pulled up to the building after driving for a mere matter of minutes. Her bag was still sat in the same position as it was hours ago, untouched. The notebook lay on top of the closed zip this time, a pen keeping her place. She quickly stuffed it into the bag, climbing out of the car with it. Aria wasn't completely stood when she was pinned up against the wet car.
" What did you do to me." The same man from the other night growled, rain droplets glistening through the short lengths of his hair. She could only guess he'd followed her. But that mean him seeing what she did the girl minutes before. Aria narrowed her eyes at him, unsure.
She sighed, picking up his hand and pushing him off her. Without saying anything she walked to the trunk of her car, ignoring the man following after her. She popped up the trunk and began to haul out an overnight duffle bag.
"Will you listen to me." He said sternly, pushing himself up against her, stopping her from unloading the bag.
" No, not until you give me some space. I don't owe you an explanation at all." She shrugged, pushing her dripping hair back from her face, slick with rain.
She moved past him, not giving him enough time to react, walking casually over to the double doors of the motel. Just as Aria thought, he kept on her heels, following her like a lost puppy.
" Yes. You do." He told her, gritting his teeth together, grinding them once finished with his words. The air was bitter cold, a slight breeze feeling like a gale against the soaked material of Aria's clothes. She turned her back to the doors, having no empty hands to open them with, and pushed between them with her back. She spun around gracefully, and dropped her bag at her feet, ringing the bell on the front desk.
She glanced at the man pursuing her. " What will it take to make you leave?" She asked, a brow raised.
A small, round woman waddled round the corner of a door frame behind the desk, a scowl plastered to her sallow features. " Twin room, or double?" She asked, her voice low and masculine.
" Single. He's not staying." Aria replied, shaking her head.
" I want the truth." He said brusquely, holding out his hands, upturned to the ceiling, in a shrug-like manner. Aria let out a forceful breath and took the room key off of the woman.
" Fine. I'll explain." She gave in, wanting to rid herself of this man. " Just follow me."
She walked towards the direction the signs, nailed to the old fashioned papered walls, pointed her in, the man right behind her.
" I thought you said he wasn't staying." The woman shouted down the hall, angry at nothing Aria could take responsibility for.
" He isn't." She called back, over her shoulder, not bothering to stop and turn.
