Aria swung open the door to the motel room, soon becoming bored of Chris's simpleness. The room was warm inside, not too warm that Aria couldn't stand it; warm enough. She sat on the sofa, lying back. Aria's eyes drifted to the low, dirty cream ceiling, drifting in and out of consciousness with nothing to do.
Her eyes snapped open to a loud knocking. The sun had disappeared from sight, moonlight replacing the light flooding in through the window. She sat upright, cursing herself for falling asleep when she could have been searching, doing something somewhat productive. She pushed herself to standing, straightening her knees and dawdling forward to the door.
Opening it, Isaac came bursting into her room, invading her space once again.
" What do you want now?" Aria asked, yawning, sleep still clear in her voice. He ignored her question, barging through the living area to where he sat on the sofa. Aria sighed. " Okay."
She pawed at her cheeks, bringing some colour to the usually blank flesh.
" What did you do to Chris?" Isaac asked, shooting an angry glare at Aria as she came to sit in the armchair beside him. Aria furrowed her brows, confused. She'd done nothing to Chris, except talk to him like any normal person.
" Nothing?" She told him. " What's he said that made you ask that?" She questioned.
When she stood to leave Chris' home, she'd made him promise to keep her identity a secret, surprisingly without any compulsion. She either really intimidated Chris or he was truly a kind person. Aria guessed the first, the latter was completely impossible, people were always cruel.
" He hasn't said anything, that's why I'm asking you." He snapped at Aria, bitterly, leaning forward to close the needed space between them. She sat back, looking at the man. For the time between Isaac imposing himself into her accommodation and to the last sentence he spoke, Aria worried Chris had broken his promise - for that, she might of killed him, she wasn't sure. " What did you do to him?" He asked again, demanding this time, raising off his seat.
" I want to find a friend. An old friend." Aria paused between sentences, watching Isaac's face, unchanging as she told him. " I wanted Chris to help me."
Isaac's lips parted, letting a sly laugh leave his mouth as he stared at Aria. " Am I supposed to know who this 'friend' is?"
Aria smirked, knowing Isaac knew Mary, he had to.
" I believe you know her." Aria noted. " A Scot. Goes by the name Mary Webb, I believe."
Aria finished the sentence with a smirk, her eyes glistening. Isaac didn't look as pleased as Aria did, opting for a more dull expression. His shoulders raised and fell; shrugging, as he sat on the arm of the chair Aria was making herself comfortable on. He seemed to stay silent at the mention of Mary's name.
" So you know her." She added, not caring for his quiet state.
" I know her well enough to know she's a complete bitch." He answered her to no surprise. Aria hated to repeat herself but - 'Good old Mary Webb'. Had Aria really led her onto this path?
Isaac pursed his lips, looking as if he was pondering over the request of helping Aria.
"I guess I can try to put you in contact." He let out a sigh, completing his mood, only making Aria happier, though she didn't show it much.
She stared at Isaac's face momentarily, before he stood breaking the stillness.
She followed the movement, walking toward the bedroom. " You can leave." The front door closed as she passed the frame of the bedroom.
She set her bags down on the bed, unzipping them and neatly taking out what was packed. A few leather jackets, a handful of tops, more dresses than she needed, jeans and a few other things in one bag, her shoes, hair styling tools and make up in the other. Laying them on the bed, she sat down beside the three tidy piles she had made, glancing around the room. A set of drawers were next to the door, which she quickly made her way over to. Pulling the drawers open and shutting them again once her clothes were folding into it neatly, she walked to the bathroom.
Deciding on taking a shower, she slowly undressed, exposing her soft flesh. Aria jumped into the shower and felt the warm water hit her face, letting it trail down her body and puddle around her feet.
She climbed out, grabbing a towel wrapping it tightly around her body. Water dripped down onto the cold, tiled bathroom floor as Aria wiped the steamed mirror to reveal her reflection. She stood still for a moment only moving her hands to brush through her long hair with her fingers.
The floorboards felt hot compared to the bitter cold of the tiles as Aria stepped into the bedroom, rummaging through her neat drawers only to make them messy. She took out a pair of dark jeans and a black vest top, pulling them both on once she was completely dry.
She placed the brush back down on the set of drawers, after combing it through her hair for a good few minutes after it had air dried, her hair now soft and naturally wavy.
Aria moved around the room slowly, walking towards the floor length windows, looking out and resting her hand on the glass, just as there was a knock at the door, rather loud.
Aria turned now fully clothed, to see the door wide open and Isaac stood in the doorway, still in her motel room. She sighed, rolling her eyes at him. " I thought I told you to leave." Aria said, raising a brow at Isaac.
" I didn't hear." He shrugged, still standing in the doorway.
" Goodbye." Aria said, forcefully, but Isaac stood still, not moving from his position.
" Have I told you you remind me of that old friend?" Isaac asked sarcastically, changing the subject and completely ignoring Aria's demand for him to leave.
" You haven't."
" Mary -" Isaac laughed, walking further into the room. "She is just like you." He smiled.
" Isn't she a lucky one to have my charm." Aria replied, now bored of the of conversation.
She waited a few moments before glaring at Isaac. " I don't need you hanging around me like a lost puppy." She said, still glaring, and ushering for him to leave which of course he objected to.
" I'd much rather stay here." He answered, side smirking. He neared Aria, brushing a piece of hair behind her ear, flirtatiously. Aria moved her head, out of his touch.
" I would rather you leave." Aria growled. She had no intention of pleasing Isaac.
He held his hands up in defense, leaving the room, closing the door behind him. Already he annoyed Aria.
Aria's eyes glanced over the entire room as she walked into the main area. No sign of Isaac.
' Good.' She thought to herself. He'd obviously left.
She entered the kitchen, searching through all the cupboards, momentarily forgetting she hadn't bought anything, let alone the alcohol she was in search for.
She was alone and it was probably the best time to come up with a plan. Although Isaac agreed to helping her, she wasn't going to let him decide what she was going to do.
She sat down on the edge of the sofa. A plan. Who needs a plan to talk to their brothers and sister? Aria. Thats who.
They left her when she was at her weakest point, deliberately or not, they left her.
She ran a hand through her hair, racking her head of any thoughts.
She would find Mary with the help of Isaac but her family was up to her completely.
" I could simply walk in and have a big family reunion. No that wouldn't work. Its my family. It was dysfunctional at the best of times. At least that's what I can remember." Aria began to talk to herself, sighing after she finished. " What will I say." She pushed herself off her seat. " Hello. I'm Aria. Your sister, remember?" Beginning to pace back and forth, stopping after the third turn and sitting back where she was a few seconds ago.
She sighed. 'Family can wait' she thought to herself. Mary was more family to her than her own flesh and blood - well former flesh and blood.
She would find Mary, she of all people would help her find her family. Wouldn't she?
