Chris looked at Aria in disbelief, his eyes narrowing to nearly a squint. He shook his head adamantly. " There aren't any others '." He stated like he thought Aria was mad.
Aria rolled her eyes, glaring at Chris, her own mood quickly changing from relieved to annoyed in the matter of seconds. Her glistening, blue eyes hovered over the room, before returning to the man in front of her.
" You don't believe me?" She asked him, her face void of any expression now. Chris fidgeted in his seat. "Truthfully, no."
Aria got up from her low chair and finishing the last bitter drop from her coffee cup. She glanced towards the door and began to walk in that direction. Chris's chair darted backwards, and he stood up, trailing after her. Aria smirked, only for a few seconds. The seeming repeat from last night amused her.
"Where are you going?" He called across the way of the bar, picking up his pace to try and catch up without breaking into a jog.
"Well, I want to go somewhere a little more private." Aria replied, continuing her brisk walk to the wooden door.
A few minutes later, Aria and Chris arrived at the Watson house. Chris hadn't immediately offered for his house to be the venue, hesitantly thinking if it was the right choice after what Beth had warned him of. Aria sat on the long sofa and made herself comfy.
" I came in search of my siblings, Chris. Choose to believe it or not." Aria shrugged it off, had she never been mentioned? Aria looked towards the ground, staring at the oddly patterned carpet and rolling her eyes at the poor taste the human boy had. She returned her eyes to Chris, who was staring at Aria's judgmental looks. Chris had a habit of shaking his head at everything Aria said, which he gladly used again at Aria's reasoning.
" I still dont believe you." He persisted.
" Dont you open up your mind to new idea's?" Aria dragged out the ending of her complaint, slowly losing her patience with the human. She tapped her fingers on her knee to distract herself.
" I've never heard of you." He said simply, nearly monotone.
Aria took note of the vein showing above Chris's eyebrow and then looked towards the kitchen.
" How about you go and make some coffee and we'll talk some more when you've made it." She told more than asked Chris. Her hunger had always been drowned with caffeine, a reason she drank so much. Chris huffed getting up and dawdled to the coffee machine, centered on the kitchen island. He set the cup for Aria on the coffee table in front of her. Aria smiled up at Chris.
" I'm quite offended to hear they haven't mentioned me." She began, throwing a hand to her chest and shook her head. " But then again, I am the youngest." She added, watching Chris fiddle with the handle of the mug he held in his large hands.
Aria's eyes stung with the true emotion of the news. Had none of her family mentioned her in over 200 years? Did they not care?
Aria drew in a deep breath. Chris looked at Aria in disbelief, his eyes narrowing to nearly a squint. He shook his head. " There aren't any other Dubois'." He stated like a fact he'd read in a text book, like he thought Aria was mad. Aria rolled her eyes, placing the cup of coffee between her parted knees..
" Why do you expect me to believe you?" Chris blurted out, his soft brown eyes relaxing to their normal almond shape.
" I won't go into specifics but when I persuaded your girlfriend's brother into telling me the whereabouts, it wasn't just because he had a change of heart." Aria replied, with a smirk, watching Chris' expression change from disbelief to a slight fear of Aria.
" Beth isn't my girlfriend." Chris replied shortly, his voice quiet, although as he was moving the conversation onto a less worrying topic.
Aria stood abruptly, something she often did when she was bored, disinterested with the direction the discussion was taking. She would soon find out for herself, if her family have truly forgot about her, or just chose not to talk about her. As soon as Chris Watson told her where to go, she had nothing to stop her. All in good time.
But first, she would have to have a game plan. How to confront her family. What to say? She wouldn't go rushing into what may be a battle field without a back up.
