Chapter 6 - Kiwi Bird - H

I'd always prided myself on not being superficial. It took more than a first glance for me to fall in love with someone. I wasn't the type to get tied to someone based on something as small as looks.

At least, that's what I used to think.

Blonde hair,  blue eyes that looked amazing when they just caught the sun, a smile I would do anything for, ugh, she was just perfect.

It was an unfair judgement of her, one thing I knew. You couldn't meet someone and instantly know every little thing about her. Yet I knew that I seriously wanted to know her, wanted to be friends with her, wished that I could see her reaction when she opened up the vegan pasta topped with a generous amount of pesto and tried it for the first time, and see if she loved it as much as I did.

But I didn't even know her name.

I tried to focus on the customer in front of me as he was getting a bit tired of waiting for me to remember the price of our most popular sandwich combo and ask for his money. Fair enough, I suppose. It had been about 1 and a half minutes since he had come to the counter.

"Very sorry to keep you waiting sir, my mind went blank for a moment."

Understandingly, he smiled.

"I saw you look at that girl who just walked out before."

My face began to blush uncontrollably.

His smile turned into a grin as he picked up his sandwich combo.

"Happens to the best of us," he kept smiling, "that's how I met my wife when I was 16 years old. Saw her in a furniture shop I worked at part time, now we've been married for almost 20 years."

"That's a nice story." I found my voice finally after what seemed ages.

"Mind you, doesn't mean it's gonna work out with any two people, but hey, maybe it will with you two."

"I doubt it," I said shaking my head. "I never even asked her name."

"Hey, if fate wants you to be together, it'll happen."

He gave me a small wave and walked out the door, leaving me to process what he just said.

'If fate...'

Author's note

Hi guys!

So so so so soooooo sorry I haven't been updating regularly (even though not a lot of people read this anyway).

I could make up some excuse about me being really busy, which is sorta true, but being honest I just haven't felt like writing it lately, and I don't want to make a story that seems rushed/forced because that's not a good story in my opinion.

I'll definitely try update more often, and I know not a lot of people even read this but just for the ones that do, tell me what you like about it and what you don't like, and I'll do my best to improve it.

Alright, that's me for now, D-dizzle is out yo! (Charlotte you better find that funny)
