Jason’s P.O.V

Everyone halted to a stop as Alex ran into Dumbledore.

“Dumbledore, sir” Alex said gasping slightly.

“No need to apologize dear, you all were only trying to be punctual. I’m only down here because I realized you did not know how to get to my office.” He said in a kind voice. “Follow me please.”

“Mr. Dumbledore sir,” I said, “Why exactly are we here? Chiron really didn’t tell us anything about why we came. He told us about the school though.”

“He didn’t tell you because I asked him not too. The time wasn’t right then.” He replied.

“Oh, don’t start with this whole time isn’t right stuff.” Said Alex slightly annoyed.

“We’ve all had plenty of that to last us multiple lifetimes.” Percy added.

“You will find out once we get to my office, don’t worry.” He said without looking at us. As we walked, I looked around the corridors. They were big and spacious, larger than many of the roads in New Rome at Camp Jupiter. I don’t know why we’re here, but I don’t think it’s for a good reason. Chiron sounded almost grim when he told us we were coming here. It’s an amazing place, but I can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong.

We came to a halt in front of a statue.

“Lemon Drops,” Said Dumbledore clearly. Piper and I exchanged confused looks. Why would anyone talk to a statue? Then the statue started to move and in its place there was a staircase.

“How is that possible?” asked Annabeth in amazement.

“Nothings impossible Ms. Chase, you of all people should know that.” Said Dumbledore. We all climbed the stairs and piled into his office. It was amazing. It had all kinds of trinkets laying around and tons of books. Annabeth and Alex looked like they were in heaven.

Alex’s P.O.V

“Wow” I said as we entered the office. It was amazing.

“Have  a seat everyone,” said Dumbledore kindly. While we were looking around, 10 chairs had magically appeared for us to use.

                “Wicked.” Muttered Leo.

“Now, as Jason said early, Chiron didn’t tell you the reason you came here because I was afraid it may frighten you.” Dumbledore started.

“Frighten us?” I questioned, slightly disbelieving.

“Sir,” started Hazel, “we’ve seen a lot of things and there is very little, I think, that would truly frighten us.”

“I understand that, but I had to be sure.” He replied, not missing a beat.

“So,” I said, “Back to the reason we are here.”

“Ah, yes. The reason you are here is quite simple actually. Have any of you ever hear of the wizard, Voldemort?” questioned Dumbledore.

“I have.” I heard Nico spit out quite angrily.

“You have?” asked Frank in surprise.

“Yeah, dear old dad wants him dead. He's cheated death multiple times.”

“Why hasn’t he sent the Furies after him?” questions Thalia.

“He’s a wizard so he’s not completely mortal, especially after he split his soul. It makes it very difficult for even the furies to locate him.”

“Your young friend is correct.” Intervened Dumbledore. “Voldemort is a dark wizard who has split his soul into 7 pieces. He then placed each piece of his soul into an object of great value to him. It makes him extremely difficult to kill, but not impossible.”

“I think I’m going to be sick.” Muttered Piper.

“Now, two of these objects, or the more correct term for them, Horcruxes, have already been destroyed. His diary and a ring that belonged to his grandfather.” Said Dumbledore. He held up the destroyed diary and the ring. The hand he held the ring with was blackened, like it had been burned.

“Sir, what happened to your hand?” I asked.

“That is a story for another time.” He said simply. “Now the reason you are here is to teach the witches and wizards of our school about your world. You will teach them about the monsters because many of them have allied themselves with Voldemort. You will tell them about your quests and the two wars you have fought. And eventually you will teach them to fight with those weapons of yours. Do you understand?” he asked. We all looked at each other and nodded.

“Do we have to tell them everything?” asked Percy.

“Don’t leave out a detail. It may be more important than you know.” He said with a knowing look in his eye. I looked down at my lap as everyone’s heads turned to me. I glanced up and said, “What?”

“Nothing.” Said Thalia with a glare at everyone. I just shrugged my shoulders and nodded.

“So when are we going to be sorted?” I asked to break the awkward silence.

“Tonight at dinner. You will also tell them a bit about yourselves and who you are. Don’t worry, it won’t be difficult. Just be at the Great Hall at 7 and you’ll be fine. Now I suspect you all are hungry. I'll get a few students to take you to the kitchens to get some food. They’ll meet you outside my office. See you at dinner.”

“Thanks Professor.” Said Annabeth as we all made our way out. Percy grabbed my hand and we walked down the stairs behind Annabeth.

“Hopefully these students will be nice.” I say to Percy.

                “I hope so too.”
