On My Own part 1

The sun was setting over the hill that stood in front of me as I walked into a clearing and climbed atop a boulder. The clouds were lit up with pink and orange and wildflowers surrounded the giant rock I was standing on.

You would think this would be the most beautiful, perfect night right? Wrong. I was soaking wet and had a nasty case of poison ivy. Kinda ruined the perfect-ness.

I looked behind me to see the kingdom above the treetops. I sighed, "better get going." I said to myself as I hopped of the boulder and started into the dim forest ahead.

When I came out of the forest, I found the most perfect place to set up camp for the night, considering it was almost dark. I walked back into the woods to gather some twigs for fire wood. Besides being soaking wet, this night was going pretty well. I walked back to camp and started making the fire. I took out my bag and grabbed the matches I took when I was packing my bag. Which then I noticed were soaking wet, just like the rest of my things.

"UUGGHH!!!" I moaned quite loudly. I then got back up (again) and found a few rocks. I walked back to the place I wanted to start the fire and started striking the rocks together trying to get them to spark.

The rocks started sparking and some dry grass I collected caught on fire. This night might just be turning around for the better.

Looking up at the sky I could tell it was around 9:00. The stars were slowly becoming visible, I could hear the frogs and crickets in the distance, and my stomach was growling.

I had spotted a few birds and squirrels while gathering firewood, but I don't have anything to catch them with.

I looked into the dark forest to see a few chipmunks. I'm so hungry I would be willing to eat anything at this point. I grabbed a few stones that were around my fire and headed back into the woods hoping to catch dinner.

I snuck behind a bush and crouched into position.

After a few minutes, a fuzzy squirrel scurried out into the opening. I chucked one of the rocks at it when it ran up the oak next to me. This may take a while...

Ok, this is NOT working. I turned around to go back to my camp when i came face to face with... Well, a face. Long ago, there was an evil queen who had been banished. Despite the fact that everyone pretty much hated her guts, they made posters and hung them all over the kingdom once they realized she was gone. I was face to face with one of those posters, But it wasn't really the picture that caught my eye, it was what it was hung up with: An arrow.

After tying a piece of string to both ends of a bendable stick, to make a bow, I headed off the woods to try and fill my empty stomach.

Lucky for me I was a pretty good shot and ended up shooting a few small birds and a squirrel. Not necessarily a meal fit for a queen, but it'll do.

I got back to camp and left my dinner cooking over the fire while I made a small fort. The fort looked... Decent... I guess, and come on, it's for one night. I hope. The forts main structure was made from a few large sticks I dragged to camp and the roof was made out of some pine branches. I gathered some moss to make the ground a little softer.

It was dark outside, the stars shown brightly lighting up the sky as I slowly crawled into my fort and drifted to sleep.

Hey guys! So sorry for the short chapter! If I didn't stop it here it would go on forever though :/

The part 2 will be out soon enough (it's actually almost done) so that will be coming up!

Hope you love it!
