FINALE

The gust of wind was making the hems of their shirts flutter under the bright sunlight. Yi Xing was quiet and so was Suho.

They reached to a park somewhere around the Eonju-ro after some silent minutes. Yi Xing first sat down on a bench and then patted the seat beside him.

Suho sat down and exhaled a hot breath he had been holding for a while. And Yi Xing's fingers made their way to Suho's head and brushed the sweat-soaked strands of hairs. Suho shot a glance towards Yi Xing and stared at him.

"So the story started years ago," Yi Xing said and retreated his hand. "Yi Xing, the little boy from Changsha had to move to Beijing because of his mom. And there he became friends with a girl."

Yi Xing had never said anything about himself in the third person point of view. Suho gazed into Yi Xing's eyes as the latter continued.

"They grew up together for years as best friends. They went to school together, play together, eat together..."

Yi Xing stopped and he looked away, his eyes weren't soft as it was a minute ago. They were almost blank but a glint of stiffness was still visible.

"He became a complete utter jerk who hooks up with girls and breaks their hearts. He didn't realize he was becoming a playboy until the girl told him. But he didn't stop. Because he was a shit, that is, he was too blind to see who was always there for him. Way too blind to realize."

Yi Xing tilted his head and looked at Suho again, checking if he's still listening him. He cleared his throat after he saw Suho staring at him with an unexplainable expression.

"He was too thick-headed to realize that his childhood friend was in love with him, and that his feelings mutual. Pretty lame, isn't it?"

Suho didn't say a word because he didn't know what to say. And he only stared at Yi Xing like he's his colours.

"He even lost the friendship bracelet they bought together. And he didn't realize how frequent she's been fainting. Or how pale she looks. The bastard was the closest friend she's ever had and he didn't even realize she was suffering. He hated himself. No. He hates himself."

Yi Xing knitted his eyebrows together in attempt to prevent the bitter memories flowing back into his brain.

"So, he immigrated?"

"Yes, after he becomes a totally different person who likes to hurt himself."

"Yi Xing, that's not how you cure a heartbreak."

"Heartbreak? My heart didn't break, it wasn't broken by anybody, Myeon. She died in my arms."

Yi Xing said and Suho's eyes widened a bit at the words. Yi Xing brought his knees to his chest and wrapped his hands around them, resting his face into his hands.

"She was diagnosed with brain tumor and my mom was her surgeon. And the only person who didn't know... was me. She nor mom ever told me about that. And I was too dumb to realize that my best friend was dying. That's why I hate myself so much."

"Xing..." Suho soothed with his hands resting on latter's shoulders. Yi Xing was trembling a bit and Suho hated to see him that way.

"You know Tao, right?"

Yi xing asked as he picked his head up, his eyes were brimming with shades of red and some tears but he wasn't crying.

"I do."

"It was his sister and the name on the bracelet was hers. She owns... owned the bracelet."

That's why the boy wouldn't tell the name of the girl or the story behind the bracelet. Tao even mentioned how Yi Xing was different when he was younger.
