“I expect all of you to cooperate with the council. We will make the school better than before. We are no longer students of Hillward and Mayzen forced to study under one roof. From now on we are all students of Hilzen, and so I expect teamwork and I won’t take and entertain excuses. Under my leadership in behalf of the student body, we will make Hilzen shine and be a school far more prestigious than our previous schools were combined. We will raise the standards and the bar of excellence. We will be a school that everyone will look up to. We will stand supreme. Do I have your support?”
A thunderous and unified “Yes!” erupted from the students, followed by a full three minutes of applause, standing ovation, and the proclamations of love, admiration, and support from the ladies. Robert went down from the podium, finally done with his task of giving a speech as the student council president in the students’ assembly. The P.I.O announced a few more things and after that, the first day of the new school year of Hilzen finally came to a close.
“Bravo, my man! Are you sure you didn’t prepare that speech?”
Robert just smirked at Henry’s remark. “I don’t prepare my speeches. They just flow out.”
A whistle was the heard from Eric. “Typical Robert. You’re boasting and stating a fact at the same time. ”
“Come on guys let’s go to the newly opened café at the Meeting Point and get something to eat. I heard they have good milk teas, coffees, and pastries,” Henry offered.
“Fine with me. It’s my godmother’s place.”
“Really? Let’s go to our cars then.”
As the three approached the parking lot, they overheard the conversation of a group of boys with their backs facing them near their cars, obviously newbies.
“A Lamborghini, a BMW, and a Ferrari? Is our school a car show or something?”
“You’re just jealous, dude.”
“Wish I have one of those, maybe then the girls will follow us.”
“I heard it’s the property of the top guys of Hilzen, so hands off.”
“Aw shucks. They get all the attention, the girls, and the money.”
“It’s kinda unfair.”
“Everything in life is unfair.”
The said newbies gulped and faced the three. Robert cleared his throat and a stern look is then evident on his face.
“Instead of hanging around people’s cars, why don’t you guys mind your own business and get a life?”
“Y-yes sir!” And with that the poor lads scurried away.
