"You're all gonna die," the grandson, Inari, said, poking at his food.
"Yeah keep whining you little bitch, because someone's always had it worse in life and you're actually pretty lucky off," Naruto screamed.
"Tch yeah right, what would people like you know, you probably lived a sheltered life," he answered back glaring.
"Kakashi watched everyone he loved died, Iruka watched his parent literally be ripped to shreds, Sasuke watched his brother murder his entire family, Hinata is abused and forgotten for her younger sister, and I had to help my best friend murder his family and abandon the village he sought to protect. So don't you fuckin think your life is so bad fucking off," Naruto yelled, then slammed his hand on the table and storming out of the small house.
Everyone heard him start to sniffle and Kakashi laughed, "He's right someone always worse off. Sorry about that though, Naruto has trouble with whiny kids," Iruka said smirking.
"That can't be true," Inari whimpered, tears clouding his eyes.
"It is, though that's the watered down version. Naruto didn't tell you about how his mother and father died the day he was born or how the villager, and the people he fights protects, are always trying to murder him and have beaten the shit out of him more times than I'd care to remember. He's had things done to him that would make even seasoned ninja go completely insane. He also didn't inform you that one of those loved ones of mine I was forced to kill with my own hands, and another died because I made a stupid mistake. Or that the reason Iruka's parents were torn to shreds was because they pushed him out of the way after he tried to stop something no one could ever stop," Kakashi said staring at the door.
"I'm gonna go calm him down," Iruka said standing up and walking away.
"The part about murder is really familiar," Sasuke whispered, not understanding the similarities between their lives.
"Wait I thought you said earlier that Iruka was like we had seen him earlier, why is he suddenly acting like he did back at the academy?" Hinata asked staring at her food.
"He usually is pretty insane, but he's also a mother hen when it comes to Naruto. He thinks of Naruto as a little baby, even though Naruto is a lot more mature than him at times," Kakashi said laughing slightly.
"There's someone more immature than Naruto?" Sasuke asked.
"Look you two," Kakashi said, his one eye glaring at the two Genin, "Naruto isn't all he seems to be, he's been through more than words can describe."
Hinata and Sasuke were silent, picking at their food saddly.
"What about you, what is Naruto to you?" Hinata asked.
"Naruto's father and I were great friends. Naruto's parents always thought I'd be his older brother growing up, in a way it did happen, when Naruto turned six I became his legal guardian, since I was finally old enough to be it," Kakashi said staring at his book blankly. The rest of the dinner was silent, everybody thinking over the new information they had learned. (A/N: Kakashi is 25 at the moment and Iruka's 22)
"You okay?" Naruto heard behind him and looked up at Iruka. He was sitting at the dock looking out at the lake, letting his feet brush against the water.
"Yeah, it just messed me up," Naruto said and closed his eyes as Iruka wrapped his arms around him. Iruka sighed and set his head on top of Naruto's, rocking back and forth slowly.
"Sorry, the kid was out of line," Iruka said quietly.
"It's okay he has his own problems," Naruto said closing his eyes and leaning into Iruka.
