Chapter 3

"Bella?" I heard someone called me. I wiped all my tears away and turned around, forcing a smile. "Look, I'm sorry." It was Caspar. I was still sobbing from earlier but he really looked guilty.

I shook my head. "It's cool."

"No, it wasn't cool. It was stupid. It was immature. I made the most amazing girl cried."

"It's all forgotten, Caspar. It was just me being over dramatic. Just...go."

"I won't go before you get back inside." He moved and by now he was standing right next to me that our elbows touched on the railing.

"I will later."

"Then I'll stay." He said. I furrowed my forehead at him and giggled. "I love your laugh. You're beautiful."

"You're just trying to make me feel better. I don't need that." I stared back to the front. He cupped my face making my eyes met his beautiful ones and he slowly closed the gap between us. No. Please don't do that. Caspar, stop!

And...yes. He pressed his soft thin lips on mine for quiet awhile. It was that sweet kind of kiss. What's worse is that I didn't stop him. It felt right yet it's wrong. He pulled out and rested his forehead on mine.

"I'm sorry about what I said earlier. But you really are beautiful." He said between the kiss. Why would he do that? I pulled away and went back inside leaving him without saying a word. What on earth just happened?!

Every eyes were on me I looked at Joe with his questioning look but I shrugged it off and took my seat. I'll probably tell him later though.

I saw Caspar making his way back to his seat. I tried my best not to look at him. It was hard, I know, but I had to. What if I'm falling for him? That won't work. He was just trying to make things better I believe. I mean why else would it be?

Joe's POV

*earlier*

"Excuse me." Bella said and walked outside.

What was Caspar thinking?! I told him to stop being himself for awhile. He's never able to keep his attitude. I bet Bella hasn't got that since high school so that must hurt.

"I'll go talk to her." I said and stood up from my seat but before I got to walk away, Caspar stood up.

"Stay. I'm gonna talk to her."

"But she..."

"I made the mess. I need to clean it up." I've never in my life heard Caspar talk like a real man before. He's always made a mess and leave it until someone would volunteer to take care of it but not this time. I doubt that he had something stupid in mind because honestly, for the first time in my life, I trust him.

After quiet awhile, Bella walked back inside to our table. Alone. I stared at her but she just ignored me. What could possibly happened?

Not long after Bella came in, Caspar walked in.

There was nothing at the dinner but silence. If there was any noise, that was the sound of spoons and forks battling on plates. I mean seriously, no one was brave enough to break the silence. Even Jack who was always be the "anti-awkward" didn't break it.

That was until everyone was done with their foods and Bella finally said

"Well, that was a fun dinner." I heard everyone chuckled knowing that was a lie. "Seriously, you guys are fun. We should do this again sometimes but less..."

"Awkward?" Jack cut her.

"I was gonna say formal but that can do." She laughed and followed by everyone. Her eyes were still puffy but well, she's always been the cheerful one. That's what I like about her.

I glanced at Caspar but he just smiled while staring at his plate.

Bella's POV

Later that day, after the not-so-awkward dinner, we went back to our apartment. I ran to my room and locked myself inside. It wasn't long until I heard a knock on the door but I tried to ignore it. I didn't feel like talking to people...

"Bella? Please open the door. Let me in." ...but Joe. I don't know. He always knew how to make my days. I need to talk with him. It's not like we have any secret between us. I unlocked the door and let him opened the door himself. "What happened at the restaurant?" He asked while closing the door behind him.

"Nothing." He nodded sarcastically knowing something's up. "Okay. He came to me."

"Seriously? Wow, that's new. How did he come to you? Did he fly? Or with a unicorn?" He joked faking a surprised look.

"Joe!" I threw my pillow at him pretty hard that he groaned.

"I knew he came to you! Tell me what happened after that!"

I took a deep breath and finally revealed... "He kissed me." I said unclear but clear enough for him to hear.

"HE DID WHAT?!" He shouted. I ran to him and closed his mouth not wanting Zoe to hear our conversation. "But how? Why? I mean..." He yelled at me but whispered. He...yhispered. Yes.

"How am I supposed to know?!"

"With...mouth and everything?" He asked.

"What did you expect? Cheek?" I said, annoyed.

"D-did you...eh...e-enjoyed it?" He asked weirdly. Why would he ask such a thing?!

"What do you ask that for?! Joe!"

"I'm sorry. I mean...how are you feeling now?"

"Not good. And I need some times alone. Would you mind?" He shook his head and left me alone in my room.

Why would Caspar do whatever he did? And the worst part is that he did that right after he mocked me. I don't know how I should feel. I hated what he said but...I liked how he made me feel with that kiss.

No. He probably had forgotten about it anyway. I should move on and live.

Joe's POV

I asked Bella about everything happened between her and Caspar. And...wow. I never thought I'd ever hear that coming. The very last thing I'd want to hear. Caspar kissed Bella? After everything he said to her? Well, he's always been that one player in the group but I never thought he'd actually do that to Bella. I mean, sure she's beautiful and fun but he clearly said something...unpleasing to her and if it's just some kind of one moment thing, I won't let him do it. I won't let him hurt Bella. I felt like I've failed my job to protect her.
