I was completely out of breath. Heart racing and sweat sticking on all parts of my body, I burst through the double doors. Not having a car sucks. Having a car then have it get taken away sucks even more. Thinking of my lack of transportation and other things was bringing my mood down and I couldn't afford to be depressed today.

Standing around in a beautiful white dress that hugged her curves to perfection with her hair and make-up out of this world was my best-friend Maya. There were five other girls all dressed in the same lavender dresses with their hairs all curled and sprawled around their shoulders. All six sets of eyes turned to stare at me when I entered.

I was so fucking late.

"Please don't hate me," I plead as I walk up to Maya, stripping out of the jean jacket I threw on before leaving the house. Maya didn't respond, instead her brown eyes pierced through mines and her lips were pressed tightly in a disapproving frown. I couldn't blame her though. I was late to her wedding. We've been best-friends practically our entire lives, talked about this day since we were little girls and planned obsessively over the last six months and now I have the balls to show up half an hour before the ceremony is set to start? I'd be pretty pissed too.

"Just get ready." Is all she says to me before she turns around and ignore me.

Guilt washes over me and I want to reach out and apologize but there's no time. I strip out of my clothes and slip on the lavender dress that waited for me. One of the girls, Tia, Maya's co-worker comes over and sits me down to work on my hair. I already did it before leaving the house but the heat and running a mile erased all my hard work. Once my hair is styled just like everyone else Tia moves on and freshens up my makeup.

"Thank you." I mutter before I slip out of my seat and walk over to Maya who is pacing in a corner. She pauses when she sees me coming over to her. "Cold feet?"

"No. But what if Chad is having second thoughts?" She frets.

"And miss out on the opportunity to have you be his forever? Come on, Chad's not that stupid." There was a pause between us and I knew I had to apologize. "I'm so sorry for being late. I swear I left the house early but I had to check on Noah and then I missed the bus I planned to take and-"

"Is Noah okay?" She cuts me off.

"He's fine."

"Then you're good." She smiles at me.

This is why she's my best-friend.

The two of us hug before going over to everyone else. Maya thanks them all for being here for her on her special day and the reverend comes in and tells us it's time so get into position. It's a few minutes before we head out and the ceremony begins.

Everything is beautiful. From the song choice Maya chose to walk down the aisle to to the vows Chad and her prepare for one another. A wave of jealously washes over as I watch my best-friend kiss her husband for the first time but I push it away. I have a reception to get through; when it's over I'll go back to facing reality.

"Please welcome onto the dance floor for the very first time as husband and wife- Chris and Maya Harrison!" The host announces eagerly as Maya and Chad walk hand in hand to the middle of the room. Music begins to play and a voice begins to sing. It's too clear and loud to come from the stereo and the more I listen the more closer it seems to be getting.

I turn my head, searching for the person who is singing. The voice was becoming more and more familiar. Gasps and squeals floated around the room and heads turn towards the entrance. I turned my head in that direction and that's when I saw him for the first time. He stood out amongst the crowd with his bleach blonde curls, neck tattoo, and a mic to his lips. The grey suit he was wearing complimented his body and complexion.

He walked further and further into the room until he was standing next to the host, he never once took his eyes off Maya. One glance at her and I saw she was in tears, one hand on Chad's shoulder while the other covered her mouth in shock. Chad was smiling at her reaction and pulled her closer to his body as they dance to a live and special live performance from the one and only Chris Brown.

When it was over everyone cheered and clapped and Chris bowed graciously before going over to my best-friend and her husband. I watched as Chris man-hugged Chad then hugged and kissed Maya. She must have said something funny because Chris's face lit up with a smile and I couldn't help but stare. It was a beautiful smile, one that made you want to smile and wonder how someone could be so beautiful.

I snapped out of my creepy little stalker moment and took a step back. Maya was fine and everything was running smoothly. She wouldn't miss me if I stepped out the room for a little bit. I take a step back then another before making my escape.

My phone call takes me a little bit longer than I expected and I hope Maya didn't notice I left. With my phone clutched tightly in my hand and head lowered, I walk as fast as my heels will let me when suddenly I'm knocked off balance.

I'm prepared to fall on my ass when suddenly there's an arm wrapped around my waist and a warm body pressed against me. Looking up, the first thing I notice is the tattoo. It's a picture of a wolf roaring. Next, was a pair of lips that were plump and finally brown eyes so beautiful they almost didn't seem real. Placing it all together, it only took a few seconds for my brain to register whose arms were around me.

"I'm sorry." I push myself out of his grasp and straighten my dress. I notice my phone on the ground and bend down to pick it up but a large hand beats me to it."Thanks." I take the phone of his grasp. "I'm sorry again for running into you. I wasn't paying attention-"

"You don't see me complaining do you?" His lips curve up into a small smile. "After a while I got use to girls throwing themselves at me."

Did he just...?

I rolled my eyes. "I wasn't throwing myself at you."

"Really? Damn. You would've made this the best wedding I've been to if you did." Chris replies and I have to hold back my laughter.

"I should get going. Thanks again for blocking my fall." I say before turning around. Footsteps echo beside me and when I turn my head I see Chris walking along side of me.

"We're going to the same place." He says when I stare at him oddly. Chris and I are quite as we walk back into the room where the reception is being held. I start to head over to where I see Maya when I'm suddenly pulled back into a large chest.

"Dance with me."
