The hours went by quickly and soon I found myself ready and dressed for my outing with Chris.

The door bell was heard ringing throughout the house so I quickly sprayed perfume before running to get the door. I stopped to compose myself so I didn't look too eager then opened the door.

My smile dropped when I saw who was standing in the doorway.

"What are you doing here Trent?" I asked.

"Something came up and I can't watch him anymore."

"This is your week Trent."

"I know."

"What came up that you can't watch him?" I demanded.

"My work called me in and wants me to work another shift." Trent told me.

"As you can see, I have plans." I replied.

"Who you going out with?" Trent asked.

"None of your business."

"You're my girl. It is my business."

"If I can remember correctly, I stopped being your girl years ago." I replied.

"You look good." Trent openly checked me out.

"I know I do."

"Why you being like that? I know you miss me."

"Ha! Never that boo boo." I said.

"Whatever. Anyways, I gotta go. Can you take him?" Trent wondered.

"Like I'm going to turn him down." I said before allowing the two of them inside the house the shut the door behind me. "Where's his  stuff?" I asked.

"I didn't bring it. I know you got everything."

I fought back the urge to yell in his face.

"Okay. Thanks for bringing him. When are you coming to pick him up?"

"I'll call you to let you know." Trent told me.

"Okay."

I walked Trent over to the door and opened it. I watched his car drive off into the streets only to see Chris familar car pull up next.

Crap!

I wish I had time so I could call him and tell him I would have to cancel. I watched as he climbed out the car and jogged lightly over to me.

"You that excited you waiting by the door?" Chris said once he was close enough.

"Don't flatter yourself. Someone was just here and I walked them out."

"So you ready to go?"

"I can't." I pouted slightly.

"Why not?"

"Something came up. I'm sorry. I would've called but I just found out about this." I apologized.

"Are you just saying that to get rid of me?" Chris asked.

"No.  I really was looking forward to tonight." I admited.

"Then why can't you come?"

I opened my mouth to answer his question when I suddenly heard Noah speak.

"Mommy?"

I reluctantly tore my gaze to stare down at my five year old son.

"Yeah baby?" I said to him.

"Where's daddy?" His voice was thick with sleep seeing how he just woke up from his nap.

"Daddy had to go to work, so you'll to be with mommy for a while. Is that okay?"

"Yes."

I smiled. "Are you hungry? Thirsty? Why don't you go to the fridge and get something to drink? I'll make us dinner in a minute."

"Okay."

I ran my ringers through his curly afro and smiled at him fondly before he ran off.I turned to Chris who was staring me surprised.

"Now you know who Noah is." I nervously said.

"You're a mom?"

I nodded my head. "Yeah."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I told you I had a man in my life..."

Chris gave me a look. "You know what I mean Sienne."

I crossed my arms against my chest, shifting my weight nervously to one leg to another. "You were supposed to leave me alone after the wedding." I explained.

"This isn't really my thing. I'll see you around." Chris replied, alreasy turning around to leave.

He was so predicatable!

"Bye Christopher." I called out to him before I stepped back inside the house to cater to my child.
