"Lacey Halo will be demonstrating what you could do during a situation like this, an attacker coming at you with a "gun". Principal Cornwell stated air quoting the word gunI honestly don't remember why I agreed to this, I mean I didn't have to do it.
So here I am sitting in a chair in the middle of the auditorium stage acting as if doing something productive. "As you can see students the attacker is intently watching Lacey from behind the curtain as she does whatever she might be doing." This was boring; I could hear my fellow classmates saying how stupid this was. Agreed.
"The attacker is slowly approaching Lacey, but little does she know he hides a weapon. The first thing you want to look for, before anything like this happens, is anything suspicious. The attack is wearing a hoodie and a mask. A big red flag." He continued
I heard the heavy footsteps nearing towards me, I continued my "act" while managing to peek to the side at my best friend. I held back a smile as Juliet gave me two thumbs up. Seconds later I felt something press to the side of my head, cold metal, making my mind pulse. But then I remembered it was a prop.
"The attacker has now pulled out the weapon and using it against Miss. Halo. By this point you should be alarmed and looking around for anything that could help protect you, in this case it would be her book."
On cue, I picked up my book with both hands from my lap, turning around about the smack the attacker straight in the face. But that didn't go according to plan, since he "Attacker" smacked the book out of my hands and pushed me to the floor. I fell with a booming thud, which echoed throughout the room. Holding both handing above my head, he slowly moved on top of me and pointed the gun straight into my face.
"Miss Halo was supposed to keep her grip on the book, but as you all can see she didn't and the attacker got to her." Mr Cornwell gestured towards me. The nervousness in his voice was evident as was the fact that this wasn't supposed to happen.
Everything started happening in a blur as "Attacker" turned the gun from me to the principal. I heard gasps of the student body and some teachers whispering if this was supposed to happen.
"Now I think the show is over? Don't you?" The gun shot flew straight into Mr. Cornwell's chest
Screams filled my ears as I watched my classmates erupt into pure chaos. Everyone was running, looking for any sort of escape. I looked over at Juliet who was frozen in her spot.
"Juliet!" I screamed
She looked at me with wide eyes, eyes full of shock, terror and confusion. "Run!" I yelled at her
After a few seconds she bolted out with everyone else.
"I think it's time for us to leave." The person who now I realized wasn't a student whispered to me
"Who are you?" I asked cautiously
"That's not important.." trailing off a cloth was pulled out of his hoodie , he looked at it for a moment before inching it towards me
I started to thrash around attempting to get out of his strong hold. The cloth was pressed to my mouth. I tried not to breathe in but it was too late.
The last thing I heard was "Sweet dreams"
