Chapter 10: crushes and surprises

-Arlo's POV-

"So how was your date with JC?" Sebastian asked me. I was sitting outside the school on the grass with him and Fernando. Fernando wanted to eat lunch here today for some reason. "It wasn't a fucking date, it was a school project." Fernando grumbled as he pulled at a piece of grass. I rose my eyebrow at his comment but didn't say anything about it. "Well, for one, it wasn't a date. I wish it was though." I started smiling. "And two, it was weird. I'm going to his place today so we can finally pick our final choice. He told me not to be surprised if anything happens though."

"He's going to rape you." Fernando's head snapped up to Sebastian and my eyes bulged out of my head. "Why would you say that?" Fernando threw a piece of grass at his brother. "It's not rape if I like it." I smiled evilly and started wiggling my tongue all over the place. "Ew, dude. Put that thing back in your face." Sebastian scrunched his nose up, but smiled.

"Hey, did you know that Grace and Brendan went on a date today. They ditched school for it." Fernando changed the subject. "Yeah, I bet she's really happy. That whore. Taking that sexy beast of a man." I grumbled and took a bite of my peanut butter and jelly sandwich. "I thought you were all for JC." Fernando laid back in the grass and stared at the sky. "I'm not dating him. I would like the stare at hot guys and know that none of my friends are dating them." I rolled my eyes. "What about that Jewel girl." Sebastian spoke up after taking a bite of his apple. A huge ass bite too.

"She seems annoying." Fernando said. "She seems nice." I shrugged my shoulders and Fernando glared at me. "She's hot." Sebastian smirked, and I clapped my hands. "You like her don't you?" I gushed at him, my eyes were probably going to fall out of their sockets if I make them any wider. Sebastian blushed a little and looked to his side clearing his throat. "Oh em gee!" I squealed and tried sounding as girly as possible. "Damn Arlo. Pipe the fuck down." Fernando groaned covering his ears and rolled on his side. "Maybe just a little." Sebastian ran a hand through his blonde hair. "Woo, get dat ass baby." I cheered and jumped up and down where I sat. "Arlo, shut up." Fernando and Sebastian said in unison. Except Sebastian was whining and Fernando sounded irritated.

I haven't seen JC at all today. How was I supposed to get to his house? He wasn't even in school. Maybe he isn't feeling well today? Aw, whatever, he could have at least called. That sexy idiot. I unlocked the door to my house and threw my black pack into the hallway.

As I made my way into the kitchen my phone vibrated.

=I'm picking you up from your house. Be ready in ten=

And guess who that is. JC. Really dude, really? I need to make myself look nice, I'm going to his house, I have to look nice! Nicer than usual.

I raced upstairs and took a quick shower, with the yummiest body wash smell ever. I put on some black skinny jeans, a black shirt, and a leather jacket. I tousled my hair and looked at myself in my body length mirror. I look like a badass. To complete this unintentional look I put on some combat boots with white shoelaces.

There was a knock on my door that made me jump in surprise. I quickly grabbed my phone from my bed and rushed downstairs.

I checked my reflection once more in the mirror by the front door. Perfect, as usual. God I'm so hot. I opened the door and there stood JC on his phone. "Oh how pleasant." I said unemotionally and he looked up. The screen illuminated his face and captured his bone structure perfectly. "Ready?" He asked, I bit my bottom lip, my teeth playing with my lip ring, and nodded. "C'mon," he turned off the porch and started walking toward his car. I closed and locked the door behind me, before walking down the drive way.

"How come you weren't in school today?" I asked him as we drove down the road. "I was, uh, setting up for something." He turned down the corner. "Well Brendan wasn't in school either. He had a date with my friend Grace."

"Yeah? I think I remember her."

"Jewel was here though."

"Cool."

"But she didn't sit with us because we at outside."

"Oh."

He kept giving me short answers, maybe something was wrong? "Are you ok?" I asked him glancing at him from the corner of my eye. "Fine." Another short answer. I didn't say anything else, I kept quiet after that just staring out the window.

I heard music coming from somewhere and there were a couple of people walking down the sidewalk. Someone's having a party, I just hope it doesn't interfere with JC and I. "We're here." JC said turning off the car. And I noticed that HE was the one throwing the party. "The fuck?"
