Chapter 17: What's up with Fernando?

-Arlo's POV-

"No way!" Sebastian's and Grace's eyes were nearly popping out of their heads. Beautiful. I ha just told them what happened between JC and I on Saturday. "Ferny is going to pissed." Grace laughed and rubbed her hands together evilly. "He's going to be even more pissed if he hears you calling him that." Sebastian pushed her shoulder lightly. "Have you noticed that he's changed a bit?" Grace put her hair up in a ponytail. "No," I shook my head, Fernando doesn't seem different to me. If he has changed an I didn't notice I must be the suckiest best friend in the world. "Yeah he has, ever since Brendan, Jewel, and JC sat with us that day." Grace told us nodding and I thought back to that day. Maybe she was right. Fernando is kind of PMSing more than usual, now he just seems stiff and always annoyed. Especially when someone mentions JC, Jewel, Or Brendan's name. "Ok you may be right but I'm sure he has his reasons." I told her and closed my locker. Sebastian looked down at his shoes and cleared his throat. "Do you know something we don't Sebby? Because if you do, may God bless mercy upon thy soul." I gave him a hard look, as well did Grace. Then the bell rang. "Saved by the bell!" Sebastian yelled before bolting down the corridor. "We'll get him eventually," grace patted my shoulder before turning and leaving.

"I don't like him Arlo, that's all." Fernando whispered to me. We were in class and the teacher wasn't facing us. "Why though? That's what I want to know." I his whispered back and pushed my glasses back up on my face, they were beginning to fall off. He ended the conversation by not answering me and continued taking notes. "Fucking bastard," I glared at him and he sent me the most innocent smile ever. Honestly, Fernando might be my best friend, but that didn't mean he wasn't sexy. I cruelly crushed on him for a while but then I noticed him being straight wasn't going to help me, so I found someone new. And that was JC. But Fernando was hot. That's why I liked making him mad an annoyed because he looked weirdly cute. And when he acted innocent it made me want to "aw" and pet his head. He was was like a puppy and an alligator. The two sexiest creatures alive! No, I'm joking, alligators are the creepiest shit ever.

"Well, we kissed. So I guess you have a reason to dislike him more." I muttered under my breath and started taking notes like I was supposed to.

From the corner of my eye I swear I saw Fernando tense and set his jaw. What is with him?
