The last file

Renee's POV~

I cant believe this.

The last file had a picture of my brother. Harry was going to end up like the other kids. Dead.

"We have to go get him before this crazy doctor does" i cried and grabbed the flash light.

"Okay lets go" Luke and i ran out of the room and to the front door.

Luke pulled it but it wouldn't open. I started to pull and push and pounded on it but it didn't move. I didnt care if i had to run miles back to town, i just had to save my brother. I rested my head against the door and began to cry.

A few seconds later my phone began to ring. I looked at it to see i had one bar and a picture of my mom popped up.

"Renee?" She said in a worried voice

"Mom! Mom you have to get Harry out of the house" i yelled

"Renee! I thought he was with you! He's not here and neither is Cassie." I could hear her car keys in the background.

"Che-check my closet. He hides there." I pushed back my hair to keep it out of my face which was covered in tears.

I heard my mom breathe heavily and i guessed she was running up the stairs. I didn't hear anything after that.

"M-mom?" I was shaking now.

She didnt say anything but knew what happened when she started crying. I dropped to my knees, tears flowing down my face. Luke wrapped his arms around me.

"Mom you need to come up to the....the um" i was choking on my words. I could hear my mom sniffling.

"Mom i need you to come up to the old hospital and get me and Luke" i said surprisingly without stuttering.

"What about Har-" i cut her off

"Dont worry, ill find Harry just get up here quick" my phone started beeping and i looked to see a low battery sigh.

I realized Luke was still holding me but when i looked at him, his attention was somewheres else.

"What are you looking at?" I stood up and wiped my face.

"I thought.....never mind its just me going crazy" he stood up and rubbed his forehead.

"Tell me what it was, please" i looked at him in the dark. I could slightly see his face from the flashlight on the floor.

"I thought...i thought i saw someone" he said looking toward the hall way we haven't gone down yet.

"Well maybe the man is here with Harry" i picked up the flashlight and started walking.

"What? Who? What man?" He held out his arms in confusion.

"The one in his window..." I face palmed myself in realization.

"Im so stupid i didn't believe him"

"Your not stupid Renee." He tried to reassure me but it didn't work.

"We have to get him so come on" i started walking and he grabbed my arm

"What are you going to do? He could kill you!"

"I... I promised i wouldnt let anything happen to him and if i have to die to try and protect him then i will. Now are you coming with me or not" i looked at Luke and he let go of my arm.

"Well I'm coming too." He grabbed something out of his bag and started walking with me.

I started to zone out. I cant believe this is really happening. Harry is my whole world. Since his accident with my moms old boyfriend pushing him down the stairs when he was three, i promised him i wouldn't let anything happen to him. And i wont.

We didn't see anything on the first floor.

"Come on, we have to take the stairs" Luke said while grabbing my hand and leading me. Once we got to the second floor i realized this hospital has five more floors. It could take all night to search this building.

"Luke, what if we don't find him in time?" I began shaking trying to hold the tears back

"We will find him. Renee, i promise you we will find him" he said and squeezed my hand tighter.

"Turn off the flashlight" he whispered

"What? Why?"

"Just do it!" He said harshly.

I turned it off as we turned the corner.

Moonlight was escaping threw some windows. As we got closer I could see a faint light at the end of the hall

"Look Luke!"i pointed and ran ahead.

I was stopped when Luke grabbed my arm.

"What the hell Luke? Let go!" I shouted. I turned to him and noticed his face was pale. He was looking past me down the hallway and i turned to see what it was. I didn't see anything, at first.

Then i saw it, a shadow was shuffling in the hall. I squinted my eyes in disbelieve.

"What the-" Luke covered my mouth before i finished but it was too late. The shadow stopped and got closer to us. Once it was closer it stopped again, it was just on the other side of the moonlight so we couldn't see its face.

It spoke in a deep, amused voice.

"I didn't know i had company"
