Chapter 2: Never!

"Neva!!"

You must be wondering why you're hearing me shouting at my mom. Well, you see, my mom is a doctor, which I told you the last chapter, and she has these friends from college, Mr. and Mrs.Bernts. She told me that they were having money troubles so they'll be staying at our house. The thing she didn't tell me was that they were gonna be coming over for dinner. So this is why I'm holding on to the staircase while she pulls me by my feet.
"Honey, we have to make a good impression! I want to show them the caring family we are. Now get your ass out of my face!"

Okay. It's official. She's lost it.
"But mom!!", I whined, "There is no way in my life I am going to that dinner" I stated crossing my arms.

~2 hours later...

"Oh, honey! You look beautiful!!" My so called, mother, explained. I was wearing a black dress that had pink flower patterns. My hair was in waves, down to my shoulders. Ugh. I look like Ashely.
The bell rang, making my mom jump. "Oh god!", she panicked, "They're early!" She ran downstairs fixing her hair. I pulled out my phone and hurriedly called my dad. "Dad, where are you?!" I wispered. "Calm down pumpkin. I'm just, running a little late." He answered back nervously. I widened my eyes. There is no way I'm gonna have to go down there without him. "Well, hurry!" I exclaimed, putting hands through my hair.

"Rileyyyyyyyy, oh precious daughter of mine. Come downstairs!" My mom said in a sing-song voice. Dead. That's what I'll be.

"Coming!" I shouted. I said goodbye to my dad and hung up. Here goes nothing...

"Oh there she is!" My mom exclaimed. She put an arm around me and said, "This is my daughter Riley. Riley, say hi to the Bernts." I turned, plastering a smile on my face. I saw five pairs of eyes. Yes, you heard me. Not two, five. It saw Mr. and Mrs. Bernts. And then I saw Austin Bernt, Xavier Bernt, and Sean Bernt. Oh no. It's them. The three most popular guys at my school. Okay, don't freak out. Oh no. Too late! I'm freaking out. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!

I stood frozen as my mom kept calling my name. Xavier smiled and took out his hand. I slowly, extended my arm and we shook wearily. "Hi, I'm Xavier." He said. I just nodded. Sean smirked and shook my hand but too tight. Austain just waved. My mom just grinned the whole time. Could she not see how lifeless I felt/looked?!

My mom clapped her hands and said those nine words that I was hoping she wouldn't say. "Riley, why don't you show the boys your room?" Oh no.
