Chapter 2: How could this date go Possible Wrong

It was Saturday, the day of the Masquerade. I had never been to a masquerade before. The drama department from Shelby and I's old high school had let us borrow dresses and masks for the event. I was given a white ball gown with a white glittery mask while Shelby was given a red, short, sexy dress with a red and gold mask. That day we worked on each other's hair and makeup.

Shelby had a smoky eye look with sexy waves in her hair. She looked amazing. Once Shelby was finished with my hair and makeup, I looked into the mirror. I felt like Taylor Swift from a Fairytale.

Shelby: Ryan should be here anytime. Remember just be yourself. But not awkward.

Awkward was my middle name.

Me: Okay. Just don't leave me alone with the guy.

Hopefully he wasn't one of Ryan's Border jumper's friends. Ryan had used to sell drugs but he became clean when he went to rehab.

Shelby: Dude there's like going to be hundreds of people there. You won't be alone. He's a nice guy and he's pretty fine. Trust me he is your type.

I had a type?

Horn honks. Ryan's rusty blue truck is in the front.

Shelby: Ryan is here.

We both grab our cell phones, masks, and clutch bags as we head out the door.

Ryan: Wow Alexis you look beautiful.

I had began to blush.

Ryan: And damn my girlfriend is sure sexy as hell.

Shelby: Really?

Ryan: You bet.

Shelby runs into Ryan's arms as they began to make out. I get in the back of Ryan's truck. Once they are finished with their thing, they get in the truck.

Ryan: Man I am just the luckiest man in the world. I have the two most beautiful chicks in my car.

Shelby: You are just the sweetest man ever.

She kisses Ryan again. Yuck!

I thought Ryan was a sweetheart. He was probably the first guy to ever treat my cousin right. He was like an older brother to me in a weird way.

We had just gotten to the Masquerade. It was huge and beautiful. Men and women were everywhere. There were all kinds of masks. There were a few goofy ones for example there was a mask with an elephant's nose. As Shelby, Ryan, and I walked in, I had accidently bumped into some lady.

Me: Oh terribly sorry.

some lady: ah well next time watch where you're going loser.

Shelby: You better not call my cousin a loser unless you want to see your ass underneath my heel.

I love Shelby. Sure we fought but she always had my back.

Some rude lady: I would like to see you try tuna legs.

Shelby: Why I--

Shelby start walking towards the lady shaking her fist. I pull Shelby back.

Me: Shelby she's not worth it.

Shelby: You are right. That damn hoe is definitely not worth it.
