Chapter 4: The Name
“Please stop for a while, I would like to see the news,” the lady said weakly to the nurse. The lady, whose face was filled with perspiration, had just come out from the emergency operation room after giving birth to a new-born child. It was the news that was broadcasting and her face grew worried when she heard the news. She clutched the infant that she was holding in her hands tightly and said a silent prayer. Teardrops started falling from her face as a man appeared before her and smiled broadly. It was Moo-Yul and he made it back alive.
“He’s such a cute boy!” Moo-Yul exclaimed, admiring the adorable eyes of the new-born child.
“He looks like me doesn’t he?” Moo-Yul boasted to Jin-Pyo, who accompanied him to see his wife, Lee Kyung Hee.
“Don’t be too full of yourself huh!” retorted Jin-Pyo cheekily. “But I do think his face resembles mine more...” Jin-Pyo ducked to avoid a flying kick from Jun-Hee as a sign of objection.
“So…when are you going to name this child?” Kyung-Hee interrupted the conversation between the two childish men.
“Of course, as soon as…” Moo-Yulsuddenly stopped talking when the phone started ringing.
“Oh! I’m sorry! It’s mine!” exclaimed Jin-Pyo as he realized his phone was ringing. He quickly answered the call with a puzzled look.
“Hello? This is Lee Jin-Pyo speaking,” said Jin-Pyo. His face suddenly turned gave as the person who called was the Director. No good news ever comes when the director calls.
“Yes…I understand…I will assemble the people and start immediately. Okay, have a good day Director,” Steve ended the conversation abruptly. Moo-Yul and Kyung-Hee stared at Jin-Pyo intently, curious to know what that mysterious phone call was about.
“What did the Director call you for? Is it about today’s bomb incident?” Moo-Yul asked.
“Yea, I’ve been assigned with the task with you to assemble….I’ll tell you later!” Jin-Pyo said nervously as he saw a worried look form up on Kyung-Hee’s face. “I’ve got to go back to the headquarters now so I’ll leave you two alone to think of the name of your child!” Jin-Pyo said as he walked out the room.
“Wait! Let’s go together…Kyung-Hee…as for the child’s name, it’ll have to wait,” Moo-Yul said apologetically to his wife. “Don’t worry! I’ll be back before you could call my name!” Moo-Yul reassured Kyung-Hee when he saw her worried face.
“Okay then…Take care of yourself okay? Have a safe trip.” Kyung-Hee bade Moo-Yul farewell with a look of disappointment. Moo-Yul was always so committed to his work and to him work always came first.
But that was going to be the last farewell that Moo-Yul was going to say to Kyung-Hee. Jin-Pyo and Moo-Yul are now assigned as leaders to lead a group of 21 good men into North Korea to payback for what they did. They had been informed, it was a suicidal mission.
