Chapter 3

I don't know where this story is going at all.
Also I'm sick, so I got no sleep at all last night.... I'M DYING HALP ME. I feel like crap. Welp, since it's spring break I'm going to try and update a lot. Hope you enjoy this my potatoez!

Frank's POV

The guards insisted that I stay in my room. I didn't want to. There was something... different... about the boy that broke into my room. He wasn't evil, I could tell that easily. He wasn't going to kill me either. Any decent assassin wouldn't hesitate to kill their victim. I don't think he was carrying any weapons either.

I saw him run out across the grass, towards the woods. Close behind him were soldiers. They wouldn't hesitate to hurt him, but they wouldn't kill him. They would get answers from him, to see if he was working with anyone else. Then, I don't know what they would do to him.

Since I had nothing better to do than sit in my room, waiting for someone else to do the work, I decided I would go for a walk. In the woods. I as half hoping that I would run into the boy. I think it would be easier to get answers from him if he wasn't in pain, being threatened, and being watched by half the people in the castle.

I crept out of the castle, being careful to only step on the compact snow that was crushed by soldiers' boots.

As I wandered around, I wondered what would actually happen to my would-be assassin. What would happen after they got information from him. I wish my mind wouldn't have strayed along that path.

---

I walked into a clearing, one that has been scoured by guards. The once pristine snow was now gray and compact, and could no longer be played with by small children.

At the edge of the clearing, something moved. As I hid behind a bush, a black-clad figure emerged. It was the man who had been in my room last night. He didn't see me yet, and was walking across the clearing, towards a small trail on the other side of the clearing, near me. Suddenly, he lurched forward, and I heard the crack that was his ankle breaking. I jumped out from my hiding place, and rushed towards him.

Gerard's POV

I was trying to find something to eat, any alive plant, a dropped granola bar from one of the soldiers, anything. I headed to one of the clearing they had trashed trying to find me and looked around. I heard a small rustle at the edge of the clearing. I looked around, and just barely spotted a hunched figure in one of the bushes. I couldn't tell who it was, but I guessed that they thought they were safe, so I let them believe that.

I made my way across the clearing, keeping my eye out for any color, when a small area of ground beneath my foot gave way, and my foot twisted going down.

I heard- and felt- my ankle break, and bit the inside of my cheek so hard that I tasted blood.

I saw the figure leap up from their hiding place in the bushes, and I think he said "Oh shit! Are you okay?" but I wouldn't know. I was already going unconscious from the pain. God, you think simply breaking your ankle wouldn't hurt as bad as it did, but I was already passing out. Fuck, I guess I'm going to get caught...

---
I woke up, and all I saw was white. I hate that color, at least when it is in anything man-made. Snow is fine, it is clean, pure, and gentle, but hospitals, which by now I have figured out I'm in, are terrifying. In my room, everything is white. It's harsh, unfeeling, and hateful. Whoever decided to paint the whole room white is a fucking idiot.

I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't see the large, intimidating man in the room. He was wearing an army green suit, with countless gold medals pinned on it. He had a large, bushy gray mustache, and eyebrows so thick that you could not see his eyes.

"Why did you try to kill the prince? Were you working with anyone else? Where did you hide your weapons?" the man said gruffly.

"Wow, great first impression. Don't even introduce yourself. Just start interrogating me. I applaud your social skills, really." I told the man. I didn't know what he was talking about. Why would I try to kill the prince?

Oh. I was in his room, in the dark, and I probably looked desperate.

"Tell us what you know, for else we'll have to resort to... Other measures."

Oh, so they planned on torturing me. Well, I knew that they wouldn't kill me. For all they knew, I was the leader of a large killing organization, and they wanted to eliminate the entire group. So I could act, and 'pass out' of they got close to getting information. Not that I had any. I was only staying here because I'm guaranteed food.

"Go and try, you'll never break me. I don't care." I said with a smirk.

Okay, I know at the beginning of this chapter I said I would try to update a lot this week, but I had a lot of homework. Over spring break. Not much of a break, is it? This took the entire week just to get ideas, and I'm really sorry, but next week I'm busy. I'll try to update though... TOO MUCH IS HAPPENING AT ONCE! I can't wait for summer... I have gotten no sleep this past week, but I hope you did! Anywa, who needs sleep when you have YouTube and fanfiction right?

Wish me luck at school next week,
