Levi woke up with a throbbing pain in his leg, wincing and instinctively clutching onto it. "Shit.." He cursed under his breath, tilting his head back. The bullet must've infected his blood. If he didn't get it out soon...
But how? It wasn't like he could walk to the medical ward, since he didn't even know where it was either, and the idea of the bright eyed brunette helping him...well, why would he help him? He had no reason to, and he wasn't going to wake him up at God knows what time, just for him to reject the idea.
But Eren wasn't even asleep, his back facing Levi, his eyes staring at the plain wall in front of him, aware the of every sound and movement. Hearing Levi curse, he slowly turned around to the male lying on what used to be his best friend's bed.
He noticed how the ebony haired male clutched tightly onto his leg, only taking a few seconds to process what was going on. He wasn't even going to ask what was wrong or if he was okay, because the answers to those questions were fairly obvious.
Choosing his words carefully, he softly said, "You need that wound to be treated properly. I could help you to the ward.... I don't mind..."
Levi's eyes widened as he listened to Eren speak. Why would he help him? He was the enemy. He didn't give any information to his side, and Levi made it clear that he would never do so. Was he just being kind in the hope that he'd give him something?
"I'm not talking."
"I know that. If you won't tell the commander, why would you tell me? Just...if that doesn't get treated soon, it could cause more harm than needed." Getting up, he walked over to Levi. "Let me help you." He kindly demanded, holding his hand out for Levi to take.
Cautiously, he took his hand, trying to get up. As soon as he was on his two feet, his legs gave in, collapsing to the ground.
Or, he thought he'd collapse to the ground. But instead, he found himself in Eren's arms, which were practically wrapped around him. Looking up at him, he noticed that the boy's eyes were filled with concern and worry, his own silver orbs locking with his.
"Don't push yourself, okay?"
Looking away, he lightly scoffed. "Like I don't know that already.." But inside, his heart was pounding at an inconsiderable pace, thankful that the dark hid the blush on his face. Why was he acting this way? This wasn't him. He was stronger than this..., Levi thought to himself, trying to shake off any confusing thoughts considering Eren.
Eren helped him back onto his feet, wrapping one arm around his shoulders. "You may have to hop a bit..." He warned. Levi nodded, unintentionally leaning against Eren. He's so warm...he thought, wondering what it would be like to be held properly in his arms. The thought made his heart thump rapidly, before he inwardly scolding himself for having such thoughts at a time like this.
Eren walked towards the door, opening it and walking out, greeted by the sounds of loud, heavy laughter, glass clinging, slurred voices. Drunks...he thought to himself, but understood that alcohol was these soldiers only escape from the reality they called war. The sound of laughter was depressing, causing Eren to unintentionally pity them. They couldn't be happy unless they intoxicated themselves with poison. Eren had sometimes considered it, but never followed through, knowing that he couldn't afford to have a hangover in this situation.
As he Eren helped the raventette, the pain in his leg only grew worse, biting down hard on his lower lip as he practically hopped along the halls, his trousers beginning to soak with blood. Clenching his teeth, he tried to ignore the pain but it was too unbearable. He clenched his fists, wanting to be carried but had too much pride to ask the taller male.
Eren could feel Levi tense up, briefly looking down at him and noticing the pained expression on his face. He wished he could ease the pain for him but there was nothing he could do, but say,
"We're nearly there."
Hearing those words, Levi was flooded with relief and hope, nodding softly. However, what the brunette's definition of nearly was, he hadn't a clue.
The two remained in silence, having nothing to say, no words to exchange. Just left with their own thoughts. Finally, Eren arrived at the medical ward, opening the door, explaining the situation to the nurses who were treating injured soldiers.
"Okay. We'll take good care of him." They reassured Eren as they took Levi away from him.
"Thank you..." He softly said, watching as the ravenette was taken away, feeling as though a part of him was taken with him.
Strange...he thought, the unsettling feeling of emptiness overwhelming him again. He left the room, closing the door behind him but couldn't walk away. He didn't know that was stopping him, but he found it impossible, as though his feet were glued to the floor. But that was it that caused him to act this way?
The ravenette.
Eren was worried. He was concerned and hopeful that he'd be okay, that the nurses would be able to treat him.
It's strange. I don't even know your name and I'm already worried sick about you...
