Ryan led warm-ups.This team was a lot different from my old team. They are these really goofy and immature guys that can really take hockey seriously. And trust me they do.
We talked a bit at warm-ups, I was trying to be serious just like the guys and I was except for I got Nik #1 and Nik #2 messed up so I decided to call them by their last names, Kucherov and Nesterov.
I also managed to give Ryan the nickname Ry Guy and the team seems to like it so that's now what everyone calls him.
We were doing some leg stretches when Val asked, "How are you so flexible, Bryn? It's always been Andrei and Benny and now you!"
"Don't call me Benny," Ben complains.
I smile at Val and say, "I'm really not that flexible," as I fall down into my right splits.
Alex, Steven, Tyler, Cedric, Val, J.T., Erik, Anton, Jason, Nesterov, and Matti all shield their eyes, pretending like my flexibility was something hard to watch. The others just give each other looks that speak how did we end up with these immature, non-flexible, hockey players as teammates?
I laughed and hugged my leg to my chest, going into my over splits.
"Ugh! And she's even more flexible than Andrei and Benny!" says Matti, who's covering his eyes.
"Yeah, I can't do that," says Andrei, revealing that Matti's statement was at least half true
"Stop calling me Benny!" Ben whines.
"Kay, guys," Ry Guy says, trying to get the team's attention. "We're going to do two laps and then we're going to go back to the dressing room."
I was running two laps and I was almost done my second when I noticed Cedric, behind me, sprinting.
He almost caught up to me but I broke out in a sprint. I sprint until I'm done my both laps than turn around to see Cedric who was right behind me.
"Beat cha," I say.
"You were supposed to let me pass you," Cedric complains.
"Never," I say before the rest of the team stops running when they get to me and Cedric.
We all jog to our dressing room.
In the dressing room I am the first to get all of my hockey gear on. This was something I was always known for, getting my stuff on way too quick.
Braydon was having a conversation with Matt until he looked up at me.
"Holy sh-- How are you already dressed?!" Braydon, who hasn't even started getting dressed yet, shouts.
"Dunno," I say, trying not to laugh at his priceless expression.
I sat there for fifteen minutes, talking to whoever, before everyone was dressed and we all headed to out to the ice.
We had to wait five minutes for the zamboni but once they closed the doors behind the zamboni everyone got onto the ice.
I helped Andrei put one of the nets out before skating around the rink counterclockwise with the rest of the team.
After a few laps around the ice Jon Cooper came out with the pucks so we could shoot on Andrei and Ben.
I hadn't really talked much with Jon Cooper since I'd been traded to the Lightning. He seems like a good person and now I was going to see if he was a good coach.
We just skated around and shot at Andrei and Ben until Cooper blew his whistle and motioned for us all to go down on one knee in front of him at the red line.
