[sometimes, a relationship can only go so far]
---
he was my everything, my light in the dark
for each of my problems, he would hark.
my flaws were nothing, simple details that didn't matter
and the butterflies i had for him would never scatter.
but the smiles he had, they were not for me
and the only times i had ever seen him were through a screen.
i drowned in his words, the ones he wrote
beautiful words, containing the crashing of feelings, in his poems and notes;
the ones he shared with the [online] world but never to her.
and i'd often find myself trying to read them, but mostly they were only a blur
because of the tears in my eyes
and in his [for her] the stars so much like the sky.
