My house is getting trashed. Kids on the roof. Kids on the front lawn. Music so loud you could feel the vibration from the outside the house. It was a typical high school party.
"I didn't throw a party. Haden is obviously behind this mess that I have to clean up." I said with an exausted sigh.
"It's like the middle of the day. Who comes to a party in the middle of the day? That's just trashy."
"Nick shut up and help me find my idiot brother." I say as I get out of the car.
The inside of the house is even more crazy than the outside. The music is so loud I don't even know what song is playing. There are so many people, most of them I've never seen before. Couples are dancing well more like humping each other. Pretty sure I saw two kids making out on in the corner. It's just totally out of control.
" I'll look upstairs and you look down here. When you find Hayden text me. Keep your phone on vibrate." I say screaming over the music.
Nick just give me a thumbs up and start heading towards the kitchen. Trying to find the upstairs is more difficult than it sounds. Plus everyone is in the way making it hard for me to get through them. Finally after getting pushed down the stairs multiple times I'll make it up stairs. I go straight to my room so I can put my stuff down but instead I find someone in there.
"Hey princess." He says with a mischievious smile.
"What the heck are you doing in my room?"
"Waiting for you obviously. I thought you were supposed to be smart." He starts walking closer to me and with every step he takes closer I get even more nervous.
"Whatever just get the hell out out of my room!" I'm trying not to seem nervous but I doubt that it's working.
"Dianna watch your language, there no need for cursing." He laughs as if I'm a child compared to him. Before I can say anything else he grabs my arm pulls my inches away from his face.
"Adam let go of me." He just smirks at my attempt to make him let go.
"Oh Dianna I know you could never resist me and you still can't."
"Well I'm not that girl anymore." I kick him in the shin catching him off guard. Times like this it's good be a soccer player. I get out of his grasp, get my bat and hit him in the stomach. Of course I literally kick him out of my room.
I was not expecting my day to go that way. I was not expecting Adam to show up again. I thought I had everything under control. I guess I was wrong.
*****Flashback***
"Excuse me, pardon me, watch out!" Who knew getting through the hallways of a high school could be so difficult? Just my luck I have no idea where my locker is and no idea where my first class is. Out of nowhere I get knocked down.
"Ouch!" I'm pretty sure I broke something.
"Oh shoot are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm ok." I look up to see who said that and melt at the site of him. Wow way to go Dianna you made yourself look like a fool in front of this cute guy. He hold out his hand and I gladly take it.
"You look lost. You must be a freshman." He looks at me with a smile.
"Wow is it that obvious?" He laughs. Not sure if he's laughing cause he thinks I'm funny or he thinks I'm pathetic. His laugh is gorgeous.
"Maybe a little. I'm Adam by the way."
"Oh I'm dieing I mean Dianna." I am so glad he can't see my blushing.
"OK Dianna you should be going down that hallway and to the right and you should find your locker." He says looking at my schedule that dropped on the floor.
"Um thanks." I say with a nervous smile."
"I'll see you later Dianna." He walks away as smooth as can be. I'm pretty sure I made myself look stupid.
I take his advice and go down the hallway. He was right I found my locker. I put my books in it and of course the late bell rings. Way to go Dianna you managed to make yourself late on the first day of school and you still don't know where your homeroom class is.
*****
I keep thinking about that day and how much I've changed since then. We'll I can't think about that now I need to get this party shut down or I'm going to be in some real trouble. To Nick:
Forget Haden we can find him later what we need to do is shut this party down. From Nick:
OK I'll meet you in the kitchen.I walk out of my room. Adam is gone thank God. I walk down stairs to the kitchen and find Nick sitting on the counter talking to some girl.
"Nick did you even look?" I get his attention and he gives the girl a look to go away.
"Well kinda sorta not really."
"Wow thanks for the help best friend." That may have come out a little mean but at this point I want everyone to leave and get out of my house.
"Ouch. What's up with you?" He starts looking concern.
"Nothing I just ran into Adam." Once I say his name Nick's face goes from concern to angry.
"What?! Did he hurt you? Did he touch you? I swear if he did I'm going to kill that son of a-!"
"Chill, I'm fine. Let's just get these people out of here."
"I've got the perfect idea! We could just slip a hypnotizing pill in everyone's drink and hypnotize them to leave." Nick says it with an evil smile. There's my best friend back.
I roll my eyes. "Or we could just turn off the music and tell them that the cops are coming." I say as I flick him in the head.
"I like my idea better." He mumbles as we walk into the den or the dance floor is.
We make our way over towards the sound system, which is basically just a phone hooked up to huge speakers. Ha my brother is so cheap he can't even get a real DJ for his own party. With that in mind I find the phone and unplug it from the speakers and the music stops.
"Awww I love that song. Why did you have to turn it off?" Nick whispers in my ear. I just gave him a look to shut up.
I know the crowd won't be too pleased with this. Once everyone realizes what happened to the music half of them are too drunk to care the other half look very angry. I did not think this through. I am frozen. I can't move.
"Hey what the hell? Get the music back on." One guy yells as the crowd yells probably the same thing.
"Well folks the party is over, so you can go home now!" Nick says yelling over the crowd.
"Why don't you make us." Another guy yells.
"Did I mention that the cops are on their way." Nick says with a grin.
I guess that was enough to make most of the people. The other quarter of the people were either passed out or too drunk to know what was going on.
"Thanks for helping me. I kind of froze again." I said with a sheepish smile.
"It's okay. What are best friends for anyway right? Plus you can't help it." He says giving me a side hug.
"Yeah anyway let's get this place cleaned up."
