Here I am
On cloud 9
High above the world
And I'm doing just fineThen suddenly
Without warning
The cloud disappears
And I'm falling, falling, fallingI don't look down
My heart filled with fear
At how soon I'll go splat on the ground
That quickly draws nearWith that thought in mind
My limbs start flailing
Hoping to find
A foot hold or something to grab
An out held hand or something to save me fastWe both know there was nothing there
And when I reached out
I'd catch nothing but air
You'd think my life would flash before my eyes
But I never really had one
I'd been on cloud 9 all my lifeSo I squeezed my eyes shut
And prepared for impactI landed with a grunt that wasn't my own
Someone had caught me and I wasn't aloneThis someone set me down gently on solid ground
And the stableness was way better than risky cloud 9As i looked up to see my saviors face
I ended up finding an empty spaceThe person was gone
If it was a person at all.
Whoever it was that saved me from that fall,
Had given me a life to live
And I didn't have to pay at all.So even though cloud 9 is a jolly place to be
It can be very risky, as many will soon see
But if you survive the fall and get back up again
Anew life can start
And new adventures can begin
