I was .. I was suffocating .

My hands were clutching at my chest and my body thrashed widly.

"Rose.."

"Rose!"

"It's going to be okay sweetie just hang on !"

I stared up at the ceiling , bright lights blinding me every once in awhile , we were moving fast .

"Rosie , stay awake honey !"

Water and blood started escaping the edges of my mouth . I stared wide-eyed at my shirt which was already soaked .

I was drowning .

"What's going on with her !?"

"Mom..."

I chocked , the strong taste of salt water disgusting in my mouth.

"It appears that w-water is filling her lungs m'am."

"But where the hell is it coming from !?"

"No , keep your eyes open baby !"

"Wake up Rose !

"Rose !"

"Wake up .."

"Wake up sweetie ."

"Rose , Don't you have school today ?"

I groaned , shooing mom's grabby hands away from me , she didn't seem to want to stop annoying me so I sat up-right and decided to get ready .

She gave me a satisfied look before giving me my privacy .

Still shaken from the dream I'd had , I made sure I took my medicine . There was nothing scarier that my nightmares lately had been things that happened to me earlier in life .

It was Illogical , that's what they said . But came up with the conclusion that I had pneumonia , so I have been being treated for it for the past twelve years of my life .

I never forgot my medicine , afraid that one day , it would happen all over again . I was sick of it , I didn't want to feel pain when breathing sometimes , I didn't want to cough up blood and I sure as hell didn't want to look like a freak when I shook violently as a kid considering people were much more understanding now.

I dressed casually in basically whatever the hell was clean  , my hand lingering on the burn situated at the side of my chest . The one that has been there ever since I could remember , a reminder of how cruel one of my real parents must have been .

I frowned as I took in my appearance , seeing that if I continued my binge eating habits , my body wouldn't look too good considering that I had already gained a bunch of weight .

My brown eyes had light bags beneath them from staying up late , there was nothing special about the way I looked , I was just another person you could walk by and not give another glace back at .

I grabbed my phone heading down stairs to greet my mom .

"Morning mom ."

"Good-morning sweetie , how did you sleep ?"

"The same way I've been doing it for the past almost eighteen years ."

She rolled her eyes at that , I grinned from ear to ear Before turning around and smiling in content as I thought about how fortunate I was to have her in my life considering all I had lost .
