Chapter 10 - Letting Him Know

You woke up to see Kid's bed was gone. You didn't even get to give him that picture. You looked at your journal on the bedside. You heard a knock on the door and looked to see Kid and all of his friends visiting you. THey brought you flowers and 'Get well soon' balloons.

"Uh...t-thanks..." you said shyly. You didn't talk to these people a lot but....they were nice. You looked at Kid and smiled a little.

"Oh!" you reached in your journal and grabbed the picture for Kid. "I meant to give it to you before all of this....stuff happened."

"Thank you." Kid fully smiled. "Thank you so much."

After everyone got to know you, they decided to leave because it was getting late. 

"Listen...I'm sorry about Sumi..."

"It's fine, y/n..." Kid looked you in the eyes, "But..."

"You want to know what it says, don't you?" He nodded. YOu handed him it to read and covered your face with the sheets. You let him read about how he was your first true crush and how you would do anything just to be with him. He read about how you loved everything about him appearance and his personality.

"Y/n...." Kid's eyes were glued to the book. You heard him move suddenly and then you felt arms wrap around you in a hug.

"K-kid?" you blushed bright red.

"I can't believe all this time we have felt the same way and we were both so scared..."

"Both feel...wait, Kid-" as you began to confront him, the young shinigami's lips touched yours. You felt the warm static feeling of your soul wavelengths touch. Your heart fluttered beneath the hospital gown you were given. You both separated for air and looked at each other with passionate eyes.

"I'm in love with you, y/n" Kid stated.

"Kid...I love you too.: He looked at your shoulder and frowned.

"I promise I'll protect you from now on."

"I'll do the same." you said leaning in for another kiss.
