Running

Ellie POV

We ran for an hour. Not even heading back in the direction of camp, just running. Jake suddenly stopped. planting his feet in the ground.

"Ellie what are we doing?"

"What does it look like where doing Jake."

"It looks to me like were running away from those men. But why Ellie? I don't understand they started talking about a girl being nearby then you took off."

"Yeah because they're looking for me. And Joel."

"What? Why would they be looking for you?"

"Because a bunch of shit happened and they want me."

"Ellie please tell me whats going on."

"I'm immune. They were going to dissect me to take what makes me immune for a cure. The dissection would make me turn because I've already been bit. Joel broke in and stole me out before they could. He tried to convince me they had more people like me. That they failed every time and I wasn't special. But I heard him And Tommy talking and I found out the truth."

"Ellie are you being serious?"

I pull up my sleeve to show him the scar. It's getting better but its still there. He grabs my arm gingerly and looks at it.

"How'd it happen"

"Long story"
