Jake POV

After we got back Joel came running up to us a look of fury on his face.

"I told you not to keep her out overnight" he screamed in my face

"Joel listen. What happ-"

" I dont wan to hear it."

"Joel just listen."

"No"

i was getting tired of this. i just pulled him by the arm and told him even when he tried to interrupt i talked over him. I told him about the fireflies and the zombies at the prison. As i talked his face became paler and paler.

"You both go to Jake's place. I need to speak with Tommy"

I nodded and grabbed Ellie's hand and lead her to my small house. It was right on the edge of the compound and it was fairly small. It had one bedroom, one bathroom a small living room that was mixed with a kitchen, a basement, that i had turned into a training room/ armory, and a attic. I loved it when Ellie came over because the house seemed less lonely. As we got in the house Ellie stopped me.

"Jake come here"

She lead me over to the couch and sat down with me she looked at me and a grin spread onto her face

"Whats so funny?"

"You know what Joel was thinking right?"

"No, what was it?"

"He thought that we went to the ranch and.. uhhhh.. you know"

"I don't get what your saying... OHMYGOD do you think that he still thinks that?"

"If he thought we did, or if we were going to, he wouldn't let me come over here ALONE"

A smile spread onto my face.

"Do you wanna prove him wrong"

An even bigger smile spread onto her face as she nodded.
