"What!? Ally, what are you talking about!? That's impossible!" I said, then remembering the fact that I had a character from an rpg behind me. "Ally, just... Sneak over here. There was a glitch on mine, too. It-" "Are you a cat too!?" Ally asked, completely freaking out. "No, it... Look, just come over here. The building allows animals anyways, I'm sure they'll-"
"Kristy, I'm not- I mean, I'm a cat, but- I'm not exsactly a cat cat..." "Ally, please, just come over here. Trust me, you'll be fine." Ally hesitated. "Al-Alright, but open the door immediately, okay?" "Okay, now hurry!" I said frantically. Nom looked extremely worried. "Master-"
"Not now." I said, pacing frantically. 'A cat? How did she... If the game sent a character to me, it would've done the same for her, right? But for her it transformed her into the character... Unless it made her into a new character... Or switched out her body and the character's body... Ugh! Why the heck did she become a cat!?' I plopped into my chair, face in my hands, as my mind raged with ideas of what happened. "Nom, do you have a pet cat?"
Nom smiled. "Yeah! My kitty, donut!" I frowned. For some reason it didn't feel right. I didn't feel like Ally became donut. "No, something else... Something... Blonde, perhaps?" I asked, thinking of Ally's features. She had blonde hair, emerald eyes, pale skin, and was most definitely a human.
"Blonde? Do you mean Chip? She's my best friend! She's not exactly a cat, more like-" Before he could finish, a knock at the door caused me to launch off my feet and to the door. "Ally!" I cried, throwing the door open to see my best friend. It caught me off guard, in fact, considering I was expecting something small and furry. "Ally, you aren't a cat; you're just fine." I said, staring at her and wondering why she'd lied to me.
"Maybe not while I'm like this, but I assure you I'm not the same old me." Ally said. "Please, I'll tell you once I'm inside. Please, Kristy, you have to believe me!" Ally's eyes were pleading, and she looked incredibly scared. Terrified, even. "Ally, I'll let you in, but promise not to scream, okay?"
Ally's face switched to confused. "Kristy, why in the world would I-" "Master, what taking so long?" Nom's face peered around the corner, and I yanked Ally in; covering her mouth in the same fluid motion. "I know, I know, he's here, and he's your favorite, but don't scream- it'll attract attention and bad things. So shhhhhh!" I said as quickly as I could. Ally's eyes were huge, but she made no sound. I slowly removed my hand.
"Chip! It's you! How did you get here!?" Nom asked Ally. "You have Nom in your bedroom!?" Ally whispered to me extremely loudly. "Yes, I do, please don't scream." I said. Ally turned back to Nom.
"Um, I'm not Chip. I mean, I didn't use to be." Ally said to him. "Uh, I'm lost." I said, and Ally turned back to me, slowly reaching for her hat. "I told you, I became a cat. But not a fully cat, more of a... Well, more of a neko girl..." Ally pulled off her hat, revealing two blonde ears atop her head. I covered my mouth with my hand.
I was in shock. My best friend became a half-cat half-human... Thing!? Having a character from a video game was bad enough but having my best friend become a video game character... Nom's eyes widened, and he ran up to Ally and glomped her in a hug. "Chip, I'm so happy you came too! Oh, you're more and more adorable every time I see you!" Nom said, sounding overly excited.
"Nom... I Can't... Breathe..." Ally sputtered, and Nom quickly released her, blushing and rubbing the back of his head in a way that obviously displayed an embarrassed habit. "Oops! Always forget!" Nom said, laughing nervously but quickly recovering. "Anyways, haven't seem you in a while! You're-"
"Nom, she's not Chip. That's Ally. She just got turned into Chip." I said, presenting one of my theories in a fashion that sounded more sure than I felt. Ally turned back to me. "Kristy, you have to believe me. I'm really scared. I-I'm terrified. I don't know why, but I feel extremely scared of this. I have to wear hats all the time now. I'm going to have to keep from ever being startled- because Chip becomes a full cat when shes startled- and I'll have to have a tail down my pant leg twenty four seven! How can I fix this!? Please, I don't want to be a cat! I don't want to, I wanna be me again, Kristy please!" Ally launched forwards and hugged me tightly, starting to cry. I patted her on the back, wishing I knew what to say. I knew that Ally got emotional sometimes, but this time it was extremely legitimate. And I didn't know how to fight legitimacy.
