"It's the latest and greatest! The best of the best! C'mon, you HAVE to get your own-"
"Singtion! I know." I said, cutting her off in an annoyed tone.
My best and only real friend, Ally, wouldn't shut up about the newest and most popular program. It was called 'Singtion.' It was a program with music and characters that sang. I enjoyed making music, and I knew Singtion would end up being addictive. It was all Ally ever talked about, and I didn't want to have to be like that. I wanted to continue my music making without little anime characters to help.
Though I said this, I was also a woman of my word, so I would be installing the program as soon as I got back to my apartment.
I walked up to my apartment building. Twenty Stories high and made of brick, placed smack dab in the middle of the city. I was personally on floor 13, where the weirdos lived. I didn't know why I was a weirdo to the hotel manager but I didn't really care.
I walked into the glass door and pushed it open, entering a nice lobby with marble floors and a glass chandelier on the ceiling. The elevator made a *ding* as one of my neighbors arrived on the first level. This place was also a hotel on the very tops floors, so this place had tons of money.
I approached the elevator and entered to see a short and plump man with his face behind a newspaper and a tall and skinny man kneeling next to him. The two peeked their faces over the top of the newspaper. I took in their features.
The shorter one had dirty brown hair pulled into a messy ponytail with brown eyes and glasses. The other one had sandy blonde hair and green eyes, with really defined features. They stared at me. I stared back.
"Can I help you?" I asked politely. The newspaper flew up to hide their faces again. I frowned. "Um, excuse me?" I asked. Their faces peeked out again.
"Do you know who we are?" The shorter one asked. I shook my head. "Sorry sir, I can't say I do." The man looked both relieved and bewildered.
"Do you know what Singtion is?" The skinny one asked critically. I nodded. He scowled. "Well, watch out. There's a glitch and it might still be there. Don't play until tomorrow." He said quickly. I gave him a confused look, and opened my mouth to ask what he meant by that, but the elevator *ding*ed and the two rushed off. I stared after their retreating forms.
'That was weird...' I thought. 'Oh well there's probably some gift package with more music they don't want me to get.' I thought, shrugging off their strange act. The elevator *ding*ed again and it was on floor 13, so I got off and walked to my apartment. I counted the doors until I got to my own.
"131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 1310, 1312, 1313." I said. I hated the way their counting went. It was annoying. After 139 comes 140. Yet they put '1310.' Way to count guys.
I fumbled for my key. It was in my pocket, and I pulled it out, inspecting the numbers engraved in the top. '1313.' Yeah, I know. Floor 13, room 1313. Sounds like it sucked, right? But you'd be wrong. In truth, my apartment was very nice.
I clicked the key to the right and pushed my door open, walking in and looking around. Purple walls and a hardwood floor, with a double bed, two desks and a chest at the foot of my bed. Not that I cared about any of that. There was one thing in my room I cared about- my laptop. I looked over at its place of honor on the desk. A cordless mouse on a perfect mouse pad, with a headset laying neatly beside it. I smiled at my music making masterpiece of a laptop.
I walked over, throwing my backpack on my bed an sitting down at my desk. I fired up the laptop, glancing out my window as I did. It was a nice view, with people rushing below my and cars cruising past on the streets.
The download took forever, and I sighed in relief when I saw the icon of a microphone appear on the screen. In blue letters across the middle of the mic was 'Singtion.' I clicked on it, groaning when yet another loading screen popped up.
When it final loaded, I saw the flash of color before it turned black flashing red letters. 'ERROR! ERROR! ERROR!' It read in the center of the screen. I quickly shut my computer in an attempt to prevent it from crashing.
"Well, there goes my latest mix." I muttered, closing the top of the laptop. I turned around to get my phone and tell Ally her precious 'Singtion' crashed my computer. I stood up and walked over to my dresser, picking my phone up and dialing her number.
As I waited, I studied myself in the mirror. My brown hair was messier than normal, the normally loose waves tangled at the ends. My violet eyes were much more dull than usual. 'Must be from staying up so late working on essays.' I thought as I heard Ally answer the phone on the other line.
"Hey! Did you download it yet!?" Ally asked excitedly. "Uh, yeah. And it crashed my computer!" I said accusingly. "Oh... Well try again! You have to see the characters! Like Cookie and Chip and..." She began to blabber on and I tuned her out as I looked at the mirror again. Only this time there was someone with me.
I whirled around, almost dropping my phone. 'Who is this guy? How did he get in here!?' I took in his features quickly. He had wild purple and blue striped hair and bright green eyes with a blue-ish tint. He had on a white shirt with purple letters spelling out 'NOM' and a donut with a bite taken out as the 'O'. At the moment, I didn't have time to look at the rest.
"Hey Master! 'Sup?"
